Will The MaxxFan Deluxe Work With Lift/Fan Wall Buttons From Old vent?

Updated 12/19/2025 | Published 11/05/2024

Question:

I have a 2016 Tiffin with two vent fans wired in. They both have a vent lift and a vent fan button. Will the wiring tie into MA00-07500K? I know it has a remote, but I would also like the current wall buttons to work as they are now.

Hello Phil, thanks for getting in touch. The MaxxFan Deluxe # MA00-07500K is a great choice for a vent fan and it can be used to replace your current vents. This vent can only be operated with the manual controls on the vent itself, or with the included remote. If you have a wall switch for the old vent it would not work with the new one. The only way to use a switch with this vent would be with a simple on/off switch but even that is not recommended because the vent is designed to have constant 12v power.

Hey Phil, how did things go with the MaxxFan Deluxe on your Tiffin? Were you able to get comfortable using just the remote and vent controls? Your update could make it easier for others looking to replace their wired fans.

@JesseM The install went really well. It was an easy job once I got past all the old sealant on the roof from removing the old fans. The remote is a bit of a mystery. We have to be right under the fan to get it to turn on and off. Sometimes I have to press the open button a few times to get the fan to turn on. Also, it will change the flow direction after it is closed. If I have the air being pulled out, then close it; it changes it to air in the next time it is turned on. Is that normal? Other than that, we love the fans.

@PhilF Hey Phil, I'm glad to hear you are a "fan" of the fans! Sorry to hear about the problems with the remote though. Do all of the buttons on the vent itself work like they are supposed to? If so, this points to a problem with the remote itself. Its normal for the fan to change direction when you close the vent, but it sounds like the buttons on the remote might not be responding like they should. In this case, a new remote should fix that. We have the remote available as part # MA00A01150K.

@JesseM The buttons on the fan itself work as they should. Does the remote need to be directly under the fan for it to work? I have it on the wall opposite the fan side.
