When the road turns to ruts or steep driveways, more ground clearance makes all the difference. This Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension adds a 4" lift and eliminates the axle beam, so nothing hangs down to catch on rocks or curbs. The long spindles give extra room for wide off-road tires, and the built-in camber and toe-in geometry help your tires wear evenly no matter how rough the ground gets.
Rattle, bounce, and harsh hits fade away with Timbren’s AEON rubber jounce and rebound springs. They cushion impacts, control body roll, and keep your cargo steady whether the trailer is empty or fully loaded. Each side works independently, so bumps under one wheel don’t shake the entire trailer. The result is a smoother, quieter tow on pavement or dirt.
Hauling heavy gear or heading off pavement demands hardware that can take abuse. Each suspension unit is built from robust, heavy-gauge steel and coated in a black powder finish that resists rust and corrosion. The design gives you 3-3/8" of suspension travel and a 3,500-lb weight capacity, so it’s ready for demanding use without flex or fatigue.
This axle-less setup bolts directly to your trailer frame, fitting any width without the need for a custom axle. The E-Z Lube spindles make bearing service simple with built-in grease zerks, and the 5-bolt brake flange matches common electric brake assemblies. If your frame doesn’t have a crossmember, you can add a 2" x 2" steel tube through the built-in square holes for extra support. It’s a clean, strong way to modernize your suspension and keep your trailer tracking straight.

Timbrens work great! They make my homebuilt camper tow smooth, straight, and no bounce. Off road they give me better control and don’t make my light camper jump around on the trail. Install was straight forward, instructions were adequate and overall went pretty well. Staff at etrailer helped me pick the right bearings and provided great customer service as usual. I would recommend these to anyone looking to improve their trailers handling and towing characteristics.
So we had a torsion axle / frame failure and these and a new subframe was our solution! Amazing product upgrade with 12" brakes and 7000lb HD Running 16" BFG ko2 tires ! These are truly bolt on if you don't have frame problems also if your running single axles on the west coast and mountains the 12" brakes are a huge upgrade!!!
Arrived in time and no issues
Great service. So far so good. Highly r ecommend
Great product!
Looks very heavy duty, should work really great with with the trailer I'm building
Massively overbuilt and highest quality !! Note that these are HD versions which have 6000lb spindles and use 6000lb bearings, seals and brakes.
Great communication and fast shipping, much appreciated will always do business at etrailer !!
Great heavy duty option for those looking to have a quiet, off-road ride. Works with most applications and requires little to no preparation. I used these on multiple trailers over the years and will continue to.
I live in California and I'm building a custom off-road camping trailer for overlanding/camping, mainly for the Sierra Nevada backroads, but possibly for longer trips in a variety of terrain. I had read about the axle-less suspension from Timbren and found that it's a popular choice for these types of trailers. In my searches, etrailer.com came up frequently. So I posted a few questions on their web site, and got a prompt response with tons of great information and a complete parts list for what I needed. Much appreciated! The order handling and shipping was very prompt, and all my parts were shipped in one shipment which I definitely appreciate since I don't get packages delivered to my door. I received all the packages today. Great customer support, prompt handling, and quality products. I gave 4/5 stars because the packaging could have been a little better. One of the boxes was a little banged up in the corners, but the content was unharmed as far as I can tell. I've also received follow-up emails to ensure that I received everything and that it was in good shape. Overall, I'd highly recommend the company, and I won't hesitate to buy from etrailer again! My trailer build will probably take a few months to complete with all the bells and whistles, but I'll be sure to post pictures from the process.
Be warned! I would not buy from Etrailer ever again. We received our order and Etrailer failed to send the entire trailer axle kit. They did not include one spindle in the kit, rendering our order useless without ordering an additional spindle. Because more than 30 days had elapsed before reporting the issue, Etrailer refused to send the spindle, in addition to insinuating that I was deceiving them. This must be how they increase their revenues…don’t send the entire order, and if the customer does not catch it within 30 days, the customer loses and Etrailer makes more money. Absolutely horrible customer service from the company who failed to fulfill their end of the contract while accusing me of being deceptive. One star is far too generous for Etrailer and their scams.
Very pleased with the design and heavy duty construction of these axles. Used them to build an off-road trailer and they performed flawlessly throughout many challenging trails and off road situations. My only complaint is that the ez-lube hub design does not take grease very easily. I've had to disassemble the hubs to properly grease both bearings due to the inadequate amount of grease flowing into the bearings.
