Timbren Axle Less Kit Vs Torsion for 2020 Rockwood Geo Pro 19FD

Updated 08/21/2025 | Published 08/16/2025

Question:

I have a 2020 Rockwood Geo Pro 19FD. 2829 Is the posted dry weight. 1000 LB Carry, We have about 100 LBS on the trailer rear hitch. I travel on a few miles of washboard roads from time to time. I am trying to decide if the Timbren, Axless system with a 4inch lift is right? If so the 3500 or the 5200? My other choice would be a new torsion axle with a lift. Thanks

Hey Barry, in general the Timbren Axle Less kits do better on rougher roads than the torsion axles. Based on the weight of your trailer I would go with a 3,500 lb kit like the part # ASR35HDS02. This will give you a smoother ride than the higher rated kit and still will provide enough support as well.

Do you have hubs already picked out?

Thank You, I think I under estimated the weight of my trailer by about 700 pounds. I would be more comfortable with the # ASR52HDS03. You nor Timbren have them on their website but they are available. You do have the 5200 non HD version and I'm not sure I know the difference.

@BarryW The non-HD version would be fine for you. Typically the HD version is just a higher rated spindle. So I would just go with the part # TASR5200S03. I am not sure why we don't have the HD version though but for you I don't think it would offer an advantage. Are you using an off-road tire by chance though?

@JamesonC Thank You, I do mostly highway driving, to get to my destination. I go maybe 10 miles on washboard roads and some rutted out roads. I recently bent my torsion axle along with a couple other failures at the same time. I'm trying to be as preventative as possible for the future.
