Driver's-side electric trailer brake measures 10" x 2-1/4". Brake pads are made of durable friction material for improved braking and longevity. E-coated backing plate resists rust. Fits 13" to 15" wheels.

With repeated use of this brake assembly, the brake shoes may move out of alignment, causing less efficient braking performance. To keep the brake shoes aligned and the brake assembly performing correctly, you should perform routine maintenance.
This brake assembly should be adjusted after installation and then as needed for the life of the brake. To adjust the brake, use a brake adjustment screw tool (sold separately) to turn the adjustment gear on the inside of the assembly. Continue to turn the gear until the drum surrounding the brake catches on the brake pads enough so that the hub can no longer be turned easily by hand. Then reverse the gear by about 10 clicks. A properly adjusted brake should drag slightly on the brake drum.
This brake assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This brake assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This brake has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.
Each shoe on this brake assembly is lined with automotive-grade friction material for improved stopping performance and longevity. The friction material is fully bonded onto the surface of the brake shoe. This lining is custom-molded for a perfect fit. The edges are tapered to ensure long-lasting performance. This taper, along with the circular grinding that the lining undergoes, helps to prevent cracking and crumbling. This durability helps to prevent mechanical lockup, which can occur when brake shoes are excessively worn or broken.
The friction material is also SAE-N certified, which means that it is an environmentally safe product that complies with California and Washington regulations regarding the composition of brake pads. As a result, this material not only provides high-performance braking that can endure the test of time, but it is also environmentally friendly and safe for use throughout the United States and Canada.

thank u etrailer for sending me 2 extra nuts & 2 extra mounting studs. the best way to remove a bad stud is to drill it out. As u know im the one who had a mounting nut go on & turn both directions after it was put on. i could not back the nut off to replace the stud. i took a drill bit a little smaller than the stud & drilled the head of the mounting stud off. i drilled pased the 4 hole plate, knocked the nut off the back side, & taped the remainder of the stud out of the hole. No damage was done to the plate. Taking a grinder to it would have been a bad deal. The only thing i wished was in my hardware would have been a simple drawing of which the right & left sides of the trailer were. i had to go back & spend most of the day & swap both sides of the trailer after i done a complete job of putting on the brake assemblies. I did averything i thought to do to get it right the first time. I got it wrong! A simple way would be just to remind everyone that the longer brake pad goes to the rear of the trailer. I now have everything back together & everything works fine. What a nightmare, but now im in good shape. I would like to have better tires thou. Stronger & taller tires. I have looked at the contender st225/75r15 with the white rims. Soon i hope to chat with you on these tires. Again thanks for sending me the extra hardware. This is the second trailer that I’ve installed these 3.5k brakes on. These are a direct bolt on for Dexter spring and torsion axles. The brakes assemblies are manufactured in China, but they’re built very well, easy to install and adjust..

Got my breaks in for my camper, easy online ordering and easy tracking the package online, I would suggest adding new hardware to all new parts, I will start ordering all my parts here.

To grind a little away from the axle flange so they sit back correctly. It was easy enough to to once I realized why they were not seating correctly

All the parts are working great!!! I did a conversion from hydraulic to electric on my boat trailer. The trailer tows much easier and I no longer worry about being able to stop. I had a critical stop just yesterday and the trailer brakes actually locked up in my mind, a good thing
Order was shipped same day, arrived on schedule, and everything was ready to install and fit perfectly!
Product arrived in a speedy manner. Only problem with the order was the brake shoes were out of alignment and I had to reposition them (most likely due to shipping). Have use eTrailer before and will use them again and I do recommend them.

The brakes were an exact replacement for my need and are working as good as the original parts.

The product was delivered fast but came with no instructions as to which wire goes where. both wires are green and under the trailer they are black and white so the brakes don't work, I'm guessing the wires are connected wrong.

The green wires that exit the magnet on the brake assembly do not have polarity, so it does not matter which wire connects to the brake circuit and which grounds to the trailer. Either way, it should work. If the assembly is not working, I would recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the brake circuit to make sure the power is reaching the magnet.
I ordered these short notice and received them complete to my house in two days! They are working perfectly and fit exactly as they should. Highly recommend them and the price can't be beat , I replaced all four on my camper for the price of one at the dealer!
Replaced drums and brakes on both axles--3.5 K Dexter EZ lubes. These are on a travel trailer, so the EZ lube axle feature is not as relevant as it would be for axles subject to submersion. When the originals were pulled, I discovered that grease had by-passed one of the seals. The escaping grease did not get to the shoes and drum friction surfaces; but there was plenty of stray grease in the brake mechanism. I hand pack the bearings every couple of years and only put one pump of grease in at the zerks before the alternate pulling season.
I needed to retrofit my two axle trailer to get it state inspected. I bought everything I needed from etrailer. I love one stop shopping! I was very pleased with the delivery time and the high quality of parts I bought. The brakes work like a charm. The only thing that I would suggest for the company is to recommend break away automatic braking device when selling these brakes. It was required by law in Pa and I had to buy an automatic brake locally.
I would do business with these folks any day. I highly recommend.

My old brake lining came loose and wedged against the drum almost creating a fire.
Tip:
Always feel your wheel bearings at each stop for excessive heat. I had only traveled approximately 50 miles and it extremely hot.

An infrared no-touch thermometer like part # PTW89722 could come in really handy for checking the temperature of your hubs.

Fast shipping and the products were exactly what we ordered. Love the website and the instructional videos! Would not have been able to do the job without them. Did find out that there should be more info regarding electric brakes. Particularly that some model vehicles will not operate them. Also some vehicles have had the 12 volt connection disconnected when off the line. You have to track that down and plug it back in.
Best price I could find and I was completely thrilled it came pre-assembled.
