Yes, electric brakes can be used on boat trailers. The brakes will not be damaged by going in and out of the water. Electric brakes are designed to hold up in all weather conditions because they have an E-coating that help prevent corrosion on most of the internal components and backing plate. For any of the wiring I recommend using Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 12-10 Gauge - Nylon Insulation - Yellow - Qty 10 Item # DW05745-10 on any wires that are being spliced together. The heat shrink will protect the connection from corrosion.
