Features to know about

Effortless Installation: Custom T-One Connector

Ditch the hassle of cutting and splicing wires. The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector plugs directly into your vehicle's existing wiring for a seamless installation. Users rave about its plug-and-play feature, allowing for a straightforward setup in under 30 minutes—no mechanical expertise required.

Reliable Connection Every Time: Built-In Tail Light Converter

Ensure your vehicle's wiring flawlessly matches your trailer's system with the integrated tail light converter. Most trailers run on a two-wire system, where the brake and turn signals share a wire. This feature combines them on your vehicle, enhancing safety and reliability without affecting your car's operation.

Weather-Ready Durability: Dust Cap Included

The 4-way flat connector on this harness includes a dust cap to guard against dirt and moisture. Users feel confident traveling through various weather conditions, knowing their connection is protected, which helps extend the lifespan of the wiring setup.

No-Sweat Maintenance: Minimum Amperage Limits

Built with 16-gauge bonded wire, this harness supports up to 2.1 amps per circuit for stop/turn lights and 7.5 amps per circuit for tail lights. Its solid construction provides peace of mind and reduces the risk of electrical shorts, perfect for users towing in high-demand situations.

Keep Corrosion at Bay: Use of Grease on Connections

Harness longevity is increased with a simple maintenance tip—using a small amount of grease on all electrical connections, including your automobile’s plugs and the 4-pole connector. This helps prevent corrosion, especially in wet conditions, ensuring reliable performance over time.

Specs

Electrical Specifications

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 2.1 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 7.5 amps per circuit

Warranty

  • Warranty: 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

  • This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located on the driver's side and passenger's side, either behind the tail lights or along the frame rail. If your wiring harness is behind the tail lights, you will have to remove the tail light assemblies to gain access.
  • Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
  • It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Tail Light Converter

  • A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.

Note

  • This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

  • What is the Difference Between a 4-Way and 7-Way Trailer Connector
A 4-Way trailer connector has the basic lighting functions only; running lights, left turn signal and brake lights, right turn signal and brake lights, and ground. A 7-Way has these functions and a 12 volt circuit, a circuit for electric trailer brakes (requires a brake controller in the vehicle), and a reverse light or auxiliary power circuit. There are other types of connectors as well. I have included a link to our help article that shows and explains the various connector types.

  • Installing a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2005 Toyota Tacoma
I'm not sure why but I can tell you that the part you're looking at, Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM11143910, is a fit for the Lexus 570 but not your 2005 Toyota Tacoma. To install a 7-way trailer connector on your truck you need to first start by adding a 4-way if you don't already have one. I recommend using the Tekonsha part # 118496. It plugs in either behind the tail lights or along the truck's frame rail on both sides. Once the 4-way is installed, or if you...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2014 Toyota Tacoma
Both the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # 13323 and the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch # 75236 would work well for you. These Class III trailer hitches have a 2 inch receiver, 5,000 pound max towing weight and 500 pound max tongue weight. For installation, both hitches require the bumper brackets to be loosed or removed. I would go with the Curt trailer hitch, as it is more economically friendly than Draw-Tite. The trailer hitch will bolt into existing weld nuts on your truck's frame....

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2015 Toyota Tacoma
Hey Mark, for your 2014 Toyota Tacoma the hitch I would recommend is the etrailer part # e98850 which has great towing capacities and is mostly hidden. Then for trailer wiring the Tekonsha kit part # 118496 is the easiest to install and most reliable as well.

  • What is the Towing Capacity of 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD and Hitch Recommendation
I looked up your 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport and everything I found says that you have a 6,400 lb towing capacity. That would be more than enough for your 1984 Stingray that weighs 2,050 lbs. If you were in need of a trailer hitch the Draw Tite hitch part # 75236 is a confirmed fit. It's capacities are lower though at 5,000 lbs total trailer weight. For wiring you would then want the part # 118496. If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit #...

  • Wiring Adapter to Install Hopkins Agility Brake Controller on 2015 Toyota Tacoma
If your Tacoma has the factory installed 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper, it will be equipped with the brake controller connector under the dash. The connector will be located above and to the left of the emergency brake pedal, above the kick panel, as shown in the provided photo. For the Hopkins Agility brake controller, you'd need their # HM47815 brake controller adapter. If the vehicle is NOT equipped with the factory installed 7-way, it will not have the under dash connector,...

  • Adapter Needed When Towing Trailer that Has 7-way with Vehicle that has 4-way
A 6 pin flat connector is not a standard connection. Since this is a rental I would assume they meant a 7-way blade connector as that is the standard connector in the RV world. For a 4-way to 7-way adapter you'd just need the part # 37185 and you'd be set. But if you are renting a Jayco and need a 6-way square you'd want the part # 30104.

Let's start with the vehicle side. If you don't already have trailer connector on your 2008 Toyota Tacoma, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # 118496. Once you have the 4-way, you can install either a 6-way or a 7-way. Factory tow packages come with a 7-way, but you can install a 6-way and be set for your camper. • Is It Normal For 12v Power To Be On The Trailer Side 7-Way Plug When Disconnected
Hey Phil, It's ok to see 12 volts on one specific pin (pictured below). It means that whoever wired it ran a line to the battery so that the 12v hot pin on your tow vehicle's 7-way can charge the trailer battery a bit while you tow. Power sitting in the wire can drain the battery but it's such a low amount that it would take a long time to really drain the battery. Typically on trailers there's a lot of other appliances (lights, monitors, etc.) that have a small drain which all together...

If your trailer or tester utilize LED lights that is likely the issue. The factory 7-way on your 2012 VW Touareg wasn't designed to function with LED's without the adapter # C57003 which has integrated load resistors to allow LED's to not trigger lamp out sensors. This also helps with the emergency flashers. Your 2019 Volkswagen Atlas has brake controller wiring but it does not currently have a brake controller installed in it.
