Ready to refresh an RV bathroom? Plastic single sink designs are lightweight and easy to handle, making replacements straightforward. Measure your cutout first since some installs may need slight trimming or new mounting holes, and for sealing and the drain connection, silicone sealant and ABS/PVC cement are common solutions.
Dry-fit the plastic single sink, mark your holes, and test faucet and drain placement. Tight spaces can make mounting screws and tabs tricky, so pre-start them and have a shorter screw option if needed. If the sink sits proud, lightly trim interference points like tabs. Verify overflow, faucet hole count and spacing before cutting a new top.
Some plastic single sinks use a glued tailpiece instead of a threaded connection. Check if the drain tail piece glues to the sink and have ABS/PVC cement ready if needed. Confirm your trap size before you start; adapters to a 1-1/2" trap may not be included. Dry-fit everything to verify alignment before cementing.
Measure the existing hole and the overall size of the plastic single sink, then compare the flange. Check interior and exterior depth so the bowl clears plumbing. Some installs needed minor tweaks like notching screw holes or trimming tabs to sit flush. If no template is included, set the sink on the counter and trace it to mark the cut and faucet holes.
Use a silicone sealant around the rim for a plastic single sink. Clear or white silicone is commonly used to seal the flange to the countertop. Some installers also run double-sided tape before caulking to help hold position. For glued drains, plan on ABS/PVC cement at the tailpiece connection.
