You'll see key locks and thumb locks that don't require a key. A thumb lock is convenient for quick access; a key lock adds security. Check clearance behind the door, as some locks protrude out the back. If you plan to upgrade a latch, verify it's removable and that the door can house a standard cam lock, since not all panels are designed for that.
