Features to know about

Keep Your Fuel Fill Secured

Fuel fills can be vulnerable to siphoning, contamination, vandalism, and unauthorized access. A tamper-resistant keyed lock secures your fuel fill behind the locking doors, and both doors are keyed alike so you can unlock either one with the same key. Standard Phillips-head screws can leave accessible fuel-door hardware easier to approach with common tools. Tamper-resistant Torx security screws replace those factory screws, adding another obstacle around your secured fuel fill. A compatable Torx drill bit is included in the box.

Install Without Cutting or Drilling

Adding a locking fuel door doesn't require cutting into your coach or modifying the tank. Simple installation uses no cutting, drilling, or tank modifications, leaving your existing bodywork and tank unchanged during installation. Just remove the old screws, put the door in place, and install with the new security screws.

Stand Up to Fuel and Road Exposure

Your fuel door sits where diesel, gasoline, DEF, road salts, and exterior exposure can reach it. Thick, high-impact reinforced fiber-filled polymer composite is 100 Percent chemically inert to those fluids and salts and won't pit, rust, or corrode, maintaining its structural integrity around the fuel fill.

Video Transcript for Review of The RV Fuel Vault RV Access Doors - Small Locking Door QTY 2 - FV44FR

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at the RV fuel vault small locking door. Now you're going to be able to get this as just one door, as you see here on my table, or you can get it as a set of two or a set of three. So whichever quantity is going to work the best for you, just take the appropriate part number that you see there on your screen, pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to that quantity that you want and you can add that to your order.

So this small locking door is really going to give you an added layer of security for the fuel fill on compatible motor homes. And this is designed for those who want to make it harder for someone to siphon fuel, contaminate the tank, vandalize the fill area, or otherwise gain unauthorized access. Now for fitment, this door is going to fit your Ford F550 and F600 motor home applications. And also this will fit your Dodge Ram 5500 motor home application. So to see the complete listing of motor home manufacturers that are associated with those chassis that you see there on your screen that this is going to work with, do take a look at this product page.

There we inchesre quite a few listings there, so I couldn't fit them all on the graphic. But since there are quite a few different motor home configurations within those chassis and brands, confirming the specific motor home application is going to be an important consideration before picking this up. So do make sure to take a look at this product page. So the main advantage that this is going to give you is that it's going to secure the fuel fill behind a keyed tamper resistant locking door. And this is going to come with the hardware that you need.

It's going to come with two keys. And if you get like two doors, you're going to get four keys. If you get three doors, you're going to get six keys if my math is right. So you're going to get two keys per door and also the hardware that you need for each door too, again, if you get more than one door. So you're going to get everything that you need basically to install this and use it as it's been designed.

So this is really designed for a relatively easy install. And so when you have this installed, you're not going to have to worry about someone trying to remove Phillips head screws. These are torque security screws. So that's just another extra layer of security that you have here. So someone will be less likely to try to tamper with this or try to remove this. Now the door itself is made from thick high impact reinforced fiber filled polymer composite and the material itself measures about three-16ths of an inch thick. I mean, when I first saw this, and even when you lift it or feel it, at first, you think it might be metal just because it's very durable. The word that comes immediately to mind is robust, really, really strong, really rugged, but it is going to be this composite, this polymer composite material. And because it's a polymer rather than metal, this is not going to pit, it's not going to rust, it's not going to corrode. And the material is also stated to be chemically inert to diesel fuel, gasoline, death and road salts, which is going to be useful in considering where the door is installed and what it may be exposed to. This does have a temperature rating from negative 40 degrees to 220 degrees Fahrenheit. This looks great. Its appearance is going to be another part of this design. So rather than looking like an improvised security add-on, this black rectangular door is intended to give your fuel fill area a clean factory finish appearance and it's got that open back design. So the existing fuel fill is going to remain accessible when the door is unlocked and open. So I'm going to take one of the keys here. Again, all the keys that you receive will be keyed alike. It's going to be very easy to use this. So this is simple turn locks it. Then another turn is going to unlock it, show you that lock in action there. Now I wanted to give you some measurements here. So let me find my ruler. The overall height that we're looking at here is going to be right at about six and seven-eighth inches tall and what I'm calling the width, again overall, about seven and a quarter inches wide. Another important benefit that this has is the insulation. It's a bolt on setup. It doesn't require cutting or drilling into your motor home or making modifications to your fuel tank. The listed installation time from the manufacturer is only about eight to 15 minutes. So it's going to be relatively straightforward security upgrade while leaving the existing body work and tank virtually unchanged. So you're going to get everything that you see here, the hardware, the torque screws, keys. You're also going to get the bit here to help you with the installation of the screws and a key chain fob here, which I believe that's supposed to be a bottle opener too. So it's a nice little cool touch. So everything that you see here, again, I think it's going to be a pretty straightforward, easy installation, easy security upgrade really to your fuel setup. So this is going to give you controlled key access to your fuel fill. It's going to add tamper resistant mounting hardware and it doesn't require permanent modifications to your coach. It uses a corrosion resistant material that's going to be able to handle life on the road. And so if this is something that you're looking for, it meets the specifications that you're looking for, this is really going to be a great option for you to consider. Again, I'm going to list the different quantities that we have of this small door, but I think that's going to wrap up our look today. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Fit perfectly and installed in minutes. Pretty substantial, doesn't look like it would be easy to jimmy open. As the box says, it is a deterrent. Most casual thieves will look for something easier to steal from. Uses same type round keyed locks that I replaced all my storage bins with and never had any problems.
