Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this conventional single spring, single drum ramp door spring for up to a six foot wide, enclosed trailer, has an 80 pound spring capacity. Now this part will replace your old trailer door spring with this nice heavy duty conventional ramp door spring. This ramp door spring will let you easily lift and lower the door on your enclosed trailer without risk of injury. It is designed to help take on the weight of the trailer door so that you don't have to.
This one here happens to be a single spring and a single drum system. A single spring is on the torsion rod has this cable drum here with the lift cable at the one end to lift the door. It only uses one cable to lift the door in this application. And this system is normally used in snowmobile trailers to help reduce the potential for catching a ski in the cable. This spring does reduce the wear helps prevent damage to the door hinges. Now, when you do install this, the spring is designed to be mounted one way for proper operation.
And the way you can tell that is if you look at the cable drum, it'll be stamped with an R, which means for the right side. And they do also spray painted black here for visual indication of knowing that that's for the right side. The right side is designed to mount on the curb side of the trailer. Now this part will include everything laid out here on the table. The spring itself, the mounting brackets, the hardware for the mounting brackets, the bearing, gives you 150 inches of one eighth inch diameter cable and hardware to install that. And then the set screw cover.
Now this spring system can be modified to fit your specific application. You can slide the bearing and the mounting bracket where needed, and then just cut the shaft to a shorter length. So if we put the bearing on, let's say, you're going to go all the way, to narrow as possible. And if you put the mounting bracket on. So you can see what that all installed, it will fit any words from if we measure this portion 34 and three quarter inch wide trailer door, all the way up to the widest, which would be sixty six and seven eighths inches wide. Now this is a nice sturdy steel construction.
It is made in the USA. Few specs, again. The overall length from this end, all the way to this end is going to be right at sixty six and seven-eighths inches long. The drum diameter, which is the widest diameter on this is about four and three quarter inches diameter. And the spring capacity, as we mentioned, is 80 pounds. But that should do it for the review on this conventional single spring, single drum ramp door spring for up to a six foot wide enclosed trailer, has an 80 pound spring capacity.

Great product with great price!! My back is very appreciative!
Great spring for my 4 ft door on a small mc trlr! It arrived w a damaged roller n you quickly sent a replacement! I had a friend who installs garage doors to install it for me and it works perfectly! Thank you! The door was getting a little too heavy for me to safely lift.
Perfect device to making our life easier while closing our snowmobile trailer door. The video on line was excellent, product quality excellent as well. Like always, the shipping was perfect. Install took some time, but we got it done. The price was outstanding as well. We can always count on superior products, service and delivery from etrailer.
The coil spring works great. I saw a ramp door online and copied it for my shed. I built the ramp door from the shed double opening doors and used most of the parts from etrailer.com The dual spring is used to assist opening and closing the ramp door. I calculated the weight and called etrailer.com and they helped me size the dual spring.
I JUST GOT AROUND To opening the box i was pretty disappointed that there is no mounting hardware 4 bolts with nuts 2 cables 2 brakets and 2 cables not impressed
Is a great replacement part for on of our enclosed trailer. Had it a year now and no issues. Thanks etrailer!!
I am happy with door springs and they were easy to install. I installed them on my snowmobile trailer which had a heavy door that I struggled with every time. Now with one hand and little effort the door is easy to close and and open. I would give this a 5 star but the screws holding the pulley tight on the bar keep slipping which means making an adjustments several times a year.
I bought this to retrofit an enclosed trailer that was originally built with exterior springs.
This is a major improvement over the other style and money well spent. Everything went smoothly according to the instructions. I was good at 38.
My door is now a "one hand wonder".
Very heavy duty spring, would not bolt up to my trailer as is l had to drill 2 holes in each bracket and bolt it on to my existing bracket, this spring is much more thicker and wider in diameter that's why it doesn't bolt up directly but it is a very easy modification.lm a bread man and l have a hallmark edge trailer with and extremely heavy door the spring it comes with works good but they only last about two or so.l don't think l will have to worry about changing the spring for a good long time, based on the size and the way it effortlessly handles the weight of the door.lf you will notice one of these springs way smaller and has a smaller bolt pattern notice on the other photo the ramp door is open anthe spring is barely stressed but the door is very easy to pull down and you can raise it up with one arm.
Not happy at all. I had to use old part to make the installation complete. Extremely poor packaging caused the broken part.
ive installed many ramp doot assemblies. the new brackets are much easier to install by myself. most times i would need a 2nd person. keep up with making things easier and better
The installation instructions wasn't very detailed. The front and back of the instruction sheet were for double springs and I had ordered single spring. Figured it out and it works great.
Part was delivered on time, and as described. Alex was super helpful and very polite. Look forward to using E-trailer in the future.
was simple to install and still works perfect after 1 year
hardware included, cut to fit, easy to set up and worked perfectly
First, shipping was really fast. After I ordered I received a email saying my order had already shipped. I ordered on a Tuesday and was able to install my equipment during the weekend. I have a smaller 6 x 10 trailer and I only utilized 1 torsion spring which gave me a back up spring for reserve. After installing the unit with new tension cables my ramp door works smooth and I’m really happy to have my trailer back in service again. etrailer understands the importance of getting customers product out as soon as possible. I thank you for your professionalism and will recommend your company in the future.
The Spring I purchased broke after 6 mo nths,
Installed on our 2015 cargo trailer to replace broken unit. Works flawlessly and would order from etrailer again if we need parts.

This spring does fit on the passenger side of the trailer if you were facing the back of the trailer. All of our single, conventional springs would be the same. We also carry dual springs that would install on both sides.
