Question:

Hello. I need to replace the ramp spring assembly for our trailer. There are 2 cables on the ramp, and 2 springs on the spring assembly. The trailer is a Carry-On 6X12CGR7K. The spring assembly is approx 66 wide. What do you recommend? Are spring assemblies for these ramp doors fairly universal or are they brand specific? Thank you.

The spring assemblies are pretty universal and can be cut to length depending on what size you need. The Conventional Ramp Door Spring for 7' Wide Enclosed Trailer - Dual Spring - 120-lb Capacity item # ERS120D81 will work for your Carry-On 6X12CGR7K. You will have to shorten the bar to get it down to the 66" wide you require. If you don't have experience working with torsion springs I recommend you contact a garage door installer. Each spring has to be wound a quarter turn at a time 30-40 times and it can be a dangerous DIY job if you don't have experience.
