A P2-rated light produces a 45-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 90 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side. So this type of light can be used as either a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install 2 separate lights on your trailer - one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light.
Surface-mount trailer lights install using a flange or bracket with mounting holes. These lights lay flat against the trailer surface and only require a small, often pre-existing hole, for wiring. Mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the LED clearance or side marker light. This small trailer light serves as either a side marker light or a clearance light for your trailer. It is a LED system. LED had made great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, they're much more efficient. With LEDs, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs, and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments.
This unit features a really nice read lens, and it has the chrome bezel, it gives it a really clean finished look. We're looking at durable plastic construction, mounts directly on the surface of the trailer with the included hardware. And on the back, it has a two-wire design: white wire with the ring trimmer on it, that's our ground wire; and then the black wire's our power wire. This is Department of Transportation and SAE compliant.Taking a look at the overall dimensions, starting with the overall length going edge to edge this direction, it measures about three and 1/4 inches, top to bottom is one and 13/16 of an inch. And the overall depth, that's how far it sticks out from the installation surface is about 7/8 of an inch deep.
The mount holes on the unit are separated on center by one and 7/8 inches. And we're gonna go ahead and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. And we'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low-light setting. So again, black wire, that's our power wire, and then white wire is our ground wire.So you can see here the light sends out a nice consistent signal. Again, this light features a nice red lens with a chrome bezel.
And the lens allows plenty of light to come through. It features two diodes or two LEDs, so the multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output.And that's gonna do it for today's look at the LED clearance or side marker light.

This light is to replace the damaged left-rear lower marker/clearance light. The original light has a clear lens with red LEDs. This new light from etrailers has a red lens with (I assume) white LEDs. The lens shape is slightly different, but should pose no issue. The chrome bezel on the new light looks just like the original. Although this light is not like ATC OEM, it should work fine.
these marker lights seem good so far. i hope the chrome holds up,i regularly clean and wax the trailer.

so far so good,the lights look exactly like the originals. i did not install them yet but it looks like they will be great.
Just wondering if the bulbs are replaceable if needed. Really liked them Bright as I wanted.Thank You.
