Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Video Transcript for Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Honda Fit - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2015 Honda Fit we're going to review and install the Draw-Tite class one 1-1/4" receiver tube hitch, part number 24920. Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once it's installed. We've got our nice stylish round crosstube design. It brings into our fully welded construction and a nice black powder-coated finish. On either side of our receiver tube is our chain hold down, and our pre-drilled 1/2" pinhole. This receiver tube is a 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" class one.

It's capable of up to 200 pounds of tongue weight and a 2,000 pound tow capacity. Next we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 3". From the top of the receiver tube opening down to the ground is 10". This will assist you with selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. We'll now go ahead and show you the minimum tools required for installing the hitch.

We've got our 11/16 socket, a 3" extension just to make it a little easier, our ratchet for tightening down our fasteners, and our torque wrench. Now let's go ahead and show you how to install the hitch. To begin our install we need to go ahead and lower the exhaust. To lower our exhaust we're going to remove the two rubber isolators from the metal hangers on the muffler. To remove the rubber isolators from the metal hangers, we'll first spray each one with a spray lubricant and then use our pry bar our pliers to slide the rubber isolator off of the metal hanger. Now our exhaust muffler will come down and exposes our frame rail and our attachment point.

Here on the driver side we're going to have two attachment points. Starting at the end of the frame rail, a large round hole just like on the passenger side, and then the smaller hole just in front of it. Now we have a total of three attachment point. Each attachment point is going to get a 7/16 carriage bolt. Here on the passenger side we want to make sure we use the shorter of the three carriage bolts. The carriage bolt is 1-1/4" long.

The two 7/16 by 1-1/2" carriage bolts will be used on the driver side. Also going into the frame to create our attachment point with our carriage bolt will be our spacer block. Once in the frame, the carriage bolt will engage the spacer block and create our attachment point. Once our hitch is into position, we'll then secure it with a 7/16 conical tooth washer, the teeth of the washer will face the hitch, and a 7/16 hex nut. Now to get our hardware into the frame we're going to use a 7/16 pull wire or bolt leader that's supplied with the install kit. Using the reverse pull method, we'll take the spacer block and slide it onto the bolt leader. We'll then take the carriage bolt, thread it into the end of the bolt leader, feed it into the frame first. Once the carriage bolt's in, we'll follow it with the block and then use the bolt leader to pull the carriage bolt back down through the block and into position. I'll go ahead and leave the bolt leader attached as it will help with getting our hitch up into position without pushing the hardware back into the frame. Now here on the driver side the process will be the exact same for the rear attachment point, but our forward attachment point will get fed through the access hole of the rear attachment point. We're going to put our forward hardware in place first. We'll take the pull wire, feed it into the attachment point, and then out the access hole. There we'll slide on our block, thread on the carriage bolt. I'll feed the block into the frame first, followed by the carriage bolt, and use our bolt leader to pull them into place. Now before the hitch is installed here on the driver side we're going to add a spacer block to compensate for the manufacturer's plastic. The spacer block will get sandwiched between our hitch and the frame. We'll have one from both attachment points here on the driver side. Now to make it easier to get our spacer block installed, we're going to go ahead and tape it to the attachment point on the hitch. Now to tape them to the hitch we can simply take the block, set it over the attachment point, and then I'm just going to use a piece of electrical tape here to hold it in place until the hitch is in position. Now we're ready to put our hitch in place. Now as I put the hitch in place we'll just set the fastener side up on top of the exhaust and come over to the driver side, take our bolt leaders, feed them through the spacer block down through the hitch attachment point so we can bring it up to the frame. Once in position I can go ahead and remove the bolt leader and install the conical tooth washer and nut. Now once I get the first one started here on the driver side we'll move over to the passenger side and get that one going. We're just repeating the same basic process, pulling our pull wires through the hitch attachment points, bring our hitch up tight to the frame, and then removing the pull wire. Note if we put a little side pressure on our conical tooth washer, it will help hold the carriage bolt in position while we install the nut. We'll just install each fastener finger tight until we have them all in place. Now let's move back over here to the driver side, remove the second bolt leader, slide my conical tooth washer on, and the nut. Now that our frame hardware is in place, we can install the u-bolt into the tow hook. Our u-bolt is going to go down over the tow hook and through the hitch center attachment point. Securing the u-bolt on each side is going to be a flat washer, split lock washer, and then a nut. Now once all our hardware is in place we can go ahead and tighten it down. Keep in mind as we tighten down the u-bolt we want to make sure we tighten down both sides evenly. That's not a good idea. Now once we have all our fasteners tightened down we can go ahead and torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions. Now with all our fasteners tightened down and torqued to specifications we'll go ahead and reinstall the exhaust. Now with our hitch installed, tightened down, and secured, we're ready to hit the road. That will do it for the review and install of the Draw-Tite class one 1-1/4" receiver tube hitch, part number 24920, on our 2015 Honda Fit. .

This turned into a little bit of a headache. First Problem: I had to go purchase a new bracket to reduce the noise, no big deal. They warned me about it so I was prepared. Appreciated it, good business practice. Second Problem: The fit with the bike rack I bought with it (Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack Platform Style for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches - S64650). Although I greased it ahead of time, the rack still got stuck. So stuck that to remove it for a trip, I ended up actually having to slightly bend the bike rack just to relieve enough pressure so I could pry it out. That essentially rendered the rack unusable. The receiver might have been just slightly smaller than it advertises or the bike rack might have been slightly larger. Not Sure. The hitch is solid though, really strong. Easy to put on. The bike rack... not as much. So for about 4 months, I've had a hitch that I can't actually use. Despite the little headaches and total loss of the rack (only reason I bought it) I'm giving it 4.5 stars. Its really well constructed & super easy to install. I'd definitely buy it again ….but with a lot more grease. 751344

Sometimes the powder coat or paint gets applied more liberally to a hitch receiver or a shank, making the fit a bit tight. If that is the case, you can sand some of the paint or powder coat off to make the fit a little easier. If you are interested in getting your Swagman XC bike rack # S64650

Product, ( hitch for daughters Honda Fit) . Shipping was so fast. Received in a couple days and shipping box was in great condition. The use is to carry a bicycle rack. Being older, not as easy to climb under car, but hitch fit and finish was perfect and it installed quite easy. Hint, Watch video, it gives you a good idea of what is involved for old retired mechanics like me. Very satisfied and so easy to buy with great price and free shipping. Thank You etrailer.com 516648

One year later, hitch finish still looks new and function is excellent. Hitch shows no signs of rust or chipping. Nothing else to add about a well designed and finished product. Thank you again.

Great Hitch! Easy install, only thing is they sent 2 of the wrong nuts for the u-bolt. I had to run out to get them, not to bad. Install took me about 1 hour. 697692

Downsizing so I needed a hitch setup for my 2015 Honda Fit. I have utilized etrailer previously on my daughter's Outback and received the same prompt FREE delivery. Solo install and only a little regret not having a mate to support the hitch when doing the bolt up. No surprises and that is a good thing. Note: Bend the one muffler hanger down about a quarter inch to remove any chance of muffler against bolt head tap. Thanks etrailer. 418540

Installation was as per instructions, except for one minor and one major problem. Minor problem is that you have to re-install the muffler by attaching the inboard rubber isolator FIRST; if you do the outboard one first, there's not enough clearance to get your hand in. Major problem: the 1-1/4" mounting bolt on the passenger side is long enough to contact the muffler, transmitting engine noise directly to the interior. I had to remove the rear passenger tire, lower the outboard side of the muffle and cut off the excess bolt length in order to provide some clearance between the bolt and the muffler. 181118

What year is your Honda Fit? The muffler has to come off for the install? Not merely disconnected from its hanger bracket or bolt? Thanks.

This hitch is only confirmed as fit for the 2015 Honda Fit so far. The installation instructions indicate that bending the exhaust hangers is necessary after install and this should eliminate some of the rattle.

Easy to install on my 2018 Honda Fit Sport. You won't be towing much weight but it's perfect for bike hitches and lightweight cargo carriers. If you have a 2018+ Sport then you already know that the rear bumper diffuser is a concern with the hitch clearance. It clears it by about 1/2 an inch. Also another concern is the muffler. On the Sport, it will contact the protruding bolt of the hitch when installing. The Fit Sports muffler hanger are both pointed in opposite directions for the 2018 model. It differs slightly than trailer's install video. You will have to bend both hangers slightly up to clear the bolt. It also takes some considerable force. Get someone to help you, but if you're solo, install the middle U-bolt first to support the weight of the hitch. I'm using a Kuat Transfer 1 bike rack with this hitch and it clears the bumper perfectly when folded in its upright position. 711570

Ordered Saturday, Delivered Wednesday, super fast! Except for the obvious clearance problem installation was pretty straightforward, just read the other reviews for helpful tips. Was a little apprehensive about bending the muffler holders but you really have to, wish I had done it BEFORE I mounted the hitch. Great hitch if you want to use a bike rack for your 2015 Fit, as you can see by my photo, you can barely even tell it's there 193588

Easy install all I really needed was an extra set of hands. Shipment was fast, package was intact with no tears or rips. Receive package with no missing parts, instructions where clear and easy to understand. Also video very helpful. I use the hitch for my Yakima bike rack. This hitch is perfect for this application. 262564

Fast shipping and all parts were included. The assembly directions are minimal. It took about 1 1/2 hours to install on a 2016 Honda Fit. I temporarily held the hitch in place by attaching the U-bolt to the car tow ring, while installing the hitch ends. Having 2 people might help but it is tight under the car. I had the car up on ramps, otherwise there is not enough room. 658668

The three spacers 1/4 x 7/8 x 3 were too large to fit into the factory holes. They all needed to be shaved from 7/8 width to 3/4 width to be able to insert and be manuvered into place. Once this was done, installation was possible. Also the there are two rubber muffler hangars and one had be replaced with a longer one because the muffler no longer had clearance once the 7/16 x 1-1/4 carriage bolt was installed. The original rubber hangar was too short to strech. Autozone had a good supply to choose from and one was selected that was 3/8 inches longer and ealisy installed without a stretch. If these two issues hadn't arose, I would have given 5 stars on this review. Taping the spaces was a great idea. If the spacers are too large to pass through the chassis holes, place all three of them together in a vice and use a belt sander with 40-60 grit belt to strip metal off. Then use a 220 grit belt for smoother finished surface. Be sure to take metal evenly from both sides and keep the hold centered. 483755

Hitch does what's its intended to do. Also an easy install. Im giving this exact part a 1 star rating due to the fact that it will rub on your OEM exhaust(2017 Honda Fit-GK5) and make a horrible rattling sound. Customer service replied with one email after my complaint telling me to either bend my stock exhaust bracket down or go out and purchase longer exhaust hangers to stop the rubbing...seriously, thanks for the help.... 573527

Comments
The exhaust system at the rear of the car is attached to the vehicle using flexible rubber isolators and easily bendable exhaust hangers. Because of this, the actual position of the exhaust system can vary a bit from vehicle to vehicle. When the hitch is installed, its position is fixed and will not vary from vehicle to vehicle. The large tolerances in the exhaust system is what can allow the rattle to occur. In other words, its not the fault of the hitch or its design. Youll just need to create a bit more space between the hitch and the exhaust. The good news is that this is a pretty common occurrence that is easily remedied by slightly bending the exhaust hanger. Ive linked you to an FAQ article that addresses how to easily fix the rattle.

After some modifications to keep the mounting bolt from rubbing on my muffler I am happy with the performance. After it was installed there was nothing anybody could do to get it off or keep it off the muffler so I had to pay a muffler shop to cut off and make a new muffler mount to drop the muffler enough so it wouldn't rub on my hitch frame mounting bolt. This hitch is a better hitch than what I could find to put on my 2017 Honda Fit. Seems stronger and mounted better. 461369

It was quite a tight fit getting it installed. They do a great job of hole alignment to the car's pre drilled holes in the frame. I liked the clever fasteners attached to wires they supplied. The paint still looks great after one year. Instructions were clear and this hitch works just as you would expect it to. 774381

I used this to hook up a caddy for my surf fishing cart on a 2018 Honda Fit. Easy to install, although an extra pair of hands would have made it twice as fast. Works great, could not be happier with my purchase! The day after the install I hooked my biggest fish yet from the beach! The hitch adapter has held up well. I go 90 miles round trip to the Alabama Gulf Coast at least once a week, year round. Very Durable...have held up to the sand and salt. 772313

Bolted right up, simple and easy installation. Only took 20 minutes from start to finish of the installation. The only issue I had was a heavy weld that penetrated into the tube that the hitch slides into. This caused the hitch to not slide in deep enough to secure. Not that big of a deal, a file made short work of it. Just a little bit of a pain once it was on the car. 765140

2015 Honda Accord

I was pretty nervous about ordering a receiver hitch for my 2015 Honda Fit since almost no one seems to make a specific hitch for that tiny car. I had some confidence in etrailer since they did such a great job on a previous Honda Accord. I ordered the hitch and watched the [online] videos they provided and everything went EXACTLY like they said it would. I had the hitch on and wired in about 2 hours. I use the hitch every single Saturday to pull a small boat to my fishing spot. It works like a champ! 726360

Installed on a 2019 Honda Fit Sport- The hitch came with bolts that did not match the nuts provided for the driver side-totally different sizes- I had to go to a specialty fastener store and buy grade 8 nuts to match the bolts provided. The guide wires had much too large of a spring end also slipping right off the bolts and so I had to tape the wires to the bolts. The passenger side bolt/nut ( shorter one) once the hitch is installed makes hard direct contact with the top rear of the muffler so I had to hammer a dent into the top of the muffler body and buy new exhaust hanger rubber isolators to hang slightly longer so it wouldn't contact. This hitch kit does not fit without significant frustration and modifications. I would not recommend this hitch. I am very handy and mechanically inclined and this hitch kit is the worst I've ever installed. 695796

  • Which is Better Curt or Draw Tite Hitch for 2017 Honda Fit
Both the Draw Tite hitch part # 24920 and the Curt part # C11406 are great hitch options for your 2017 Honda Fit. The only real difference that you'd notice between the two is how far the hitch sticks out relative to the rear bumper. The Draw Tite has 3 inches from the pin hole of the hitch to the outside of the bumper and the Curt Has 1/2 inch so it would stick out a bit more. If it was my choice I would go with the Draw Tite since the hitch will be recessed enough that it's out of...

The types of bike racks that can hold both a trike and a recumbent bike, such as # HR1000Z-R-TRKADP, only fit Class III and up 2 inch trailer hitches. • Would a Hitch or Roof Rack be a Better Option for Bike Rack on 2018 Honda Fit?
I recommend using a hitch and hitch-mounted bike rack on your 2018 Honda Fit for a couple reasons. The first is convenience; it is going to be much easier for you to mount your bikes on a hitch-mounted rack as opposed to a roof rack where you'd have to lift the bike on top of your car as opposed to simply placing it in the hitch rack. The other reason is cost; a roof rack will be far pricier than a hitch, and you can either pocket those savings or use it to get a premium bike rack. As...

The best priced hitch available for either a 2015 or 2016 Honda Fit is the Draw Tite part # 24920 which would be a great option. The Curt hitch part # C11406 is the most expensive and require the use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack so it would not be what we would recommend. If you were to do some towing with the # 60353 you would also need the wiring kit part # 119190KIT, hitch ball # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or part # 19258 for a 2 inch ball.

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Honda Fit for Carrying Bike Rack
Hitch mounted bike racks are the way to go as they provide the most stable attachment to the vehicle, are the easiest to load/install, and don't touch any vehicle painted surfaces. For a hitch the Draw Tite part # 24920 would be the hitch to go with as the Curt requires a stabilizer strap when you carry a bike rack. The install for this rack is pretty easy as well. I attached an install video for you to check out that will cover the entire process as well. I really like the Saris...

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2017 Honda Fit LX
Yes, the Draw Tite hitch part # 24920 that you referenced is confirmed as a fit for your 2017 Honda Fit LX. It will work great with the Swagman XTC2 part # S64670 as well. For a similar bike rack that is a bit more stable on the road the Hollywood Racks part # HR200Z is what I prefer. If you check out the two review videos I attached you'll see the HR200 is a bit more stable.

  • Parts Needed to Add Trailer Hitch Load Extender to 2017 Honda Fit
The Draw-Tite Sportframe # 24920 is confirmed to fit your 2017 Honda Fit and will work well for you. However it's a Class I hitch so the Class II MaxxTow Adapter # MT70032 will not fit in the hitch. They're both 1-1/4 inches but the Draw-Tite has a stopper inside of it to prevent you from overloading the Class I hitch with Class II accessories. Instead you can use the Brophy # HTAD. Then you will be able to install the MaxxTow Load Extender # MT70231. You'll also need to be mindful...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2015 Honda Fit
I checked the online owner's manual for your 2015 Honda Fit and it did state that this vehicle is not designed to tow a trailer. It did not list any weight capacities or limits for the vehicle when it comes to trailer towing. I recommend checking your copy of the manual, as it's possible that you have a different model with alternative restrictions or guidelines. If you do decide to tow a small trailer, you will want the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24920. This is a Class I hitch that...

  • Does Draw Tite Hitch # 24920 Fit 2018 Honda Fit Sport
For your 2018 Honda Fit Sport the Draw Tite hitch part # 24920 is a confirmed fit and would work well. For trailer wiring you then would want the ZCI kit part # 119250KIT as it fits your vehicle and does not require any splicing. For a ball mount you'd want the part # 36071 and for a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball # 19256.

  • Does Draw Tite Hitch 24920 Fit 2015 Honda Fit and Who Could Install It
The Draw Tite hitch part # 24920 is a confirmed fit for your 2015 Honda Fit and would work well. We don't have a specific shop we can recommend but basically any qualified mechanic in your area would have no problem installing the hitch as the install is very basic. I attached an install video for the hitch for you to check out as well.

  • Is a 4-Bike Rack Possible for 2015 Honda Fit?
Your 2015 Honda Fit will not have a bike rack available that can carry 4 bikes because only Class I hitches will fit your vehicle, and Class I hitches such as the Draw-Tite # 24920 that fits your Honda have a maximum capacity of 2 bikes. There are 3-bike trunk-mounted racks for your Fit such as the Hollywood Racks # HRF2-3. This rack uses straps with rubber-coated hooks to secure to your car and has foam pads that prevent scuffs or other damage to your Honda. Additionally, please note...

  • What Size Hitch Pin Does Draw Tite Hitch # 24920 Take
The Class I hitches like the Draw Tite part # 24920 you referenced are designed for 1/2 inch diameter hitch pins like the part # PC2. For a locking hitch pin in this size you'd then want the part # 7680.

  • Bike Rack Compatibility With Draw-Tite Class I Receiver Hitch
A Class I hitch like the Draw-Tite # 24920 would use a 1/2 inch diameter hitch pin. If the bike rack you're interested in is compatible with a Class 1 hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver, it will be compatible with the hitch. The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR for example would be perfectly compatible with a Class I hitch, although you'd be limited to carrying two bikes on it due to the low tongue weight capacity of a Class I hitch. Thule also offers a similar rack that can carry two...

  • Adding Cargo to a 2015 Honda Fit
There are trailer hitch receivers available for your 2015 Honda Fit but they're all Class I hitches like the Draw-Tite, part # 24920. The maximum tongue weight of the hitch is only 200 pounds and it's likely that your Fit is rated even lower than that; if at all. I looked up an online owner's manual for the Fit and it states to not to a trailer at all. Even though you're not trying to tow this is an indication that it isn't rated to carry any weight on a trailer hitch. Check your printed...

  • How to Determine Ground Clearance on a 2015 Honda Fit with Draw-Tite Hitch Before Installation
On Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24920 and all of the hitches for the 2015 Honda Fit the receiver will be directly below the rear fascia. So if you measure from the bottom most part of the fascia down to the ground and subtract 1-3/4 inches that will be the approximate ground clearance measurement once the hitch is installed. On smaller vehicles that are low to the ground to start with, adding a trailer hitch usually reduces ground clearance so you have to keep that in mind when choosing...

  • Bike Rack Needed for a 2018 Honda Fit with Plastic Spoiler
I do have a solution for you to use a 2-bike bike rack with your 2018 Honda Fit, but since the spoiler is plastic none of the trunk mount options are going to be compatible. The all use straps that would go over the spoiler and could very likely damage it. Instead what you need to do is install a trailer hitch and use a hitch mounted bike rack. Although this is different than what you are wanting the perks of using this system include not having any bike or bike rack contact with your...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Honda Fit for Carrying Bike Rack
Since the Curt Class I hitches require the use of a stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack the Draw Tite part # 24920 is the best hitch option for your 2018 Honda Fit. For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118767 which is a confirmed fit as well. For a ball mount part # 36071 and hitch ball part # 19256.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for Transporting Bikes on 2015 Honda Fit
For your 2015 Honda Fit, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch # 24920. Both this trailer hitch and the Curt # C11406 that is also confirmed to fit your vehicle have the same 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and 200 pound tongue weight capacity. The reason I recommend the Draw-Tite model is because you are not required to support non-trailer loads such as bike racks and cargo carriers with a stabilizing strap. Curt requires this for their trailer hitch in order for it to remain under...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Honda Pilot for a Bike Rack
For your 2015 Honda Fit there are only 1-1/4 inch hitches like the Draw Tite # 24920 available. 2 inch hitches are usually only seen on larger vehicles like SUVs and trucks. This hitch has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity, so as long as your bike rack is compatible with Class I hitches you should be good with the Draw Tite. You may need to upgrade your bike rack though. The Swagman XTC2, part # S64670 is one of the most popular racks because it's so easy to use, and because the rack...

The Draw-Tite Class I hitch you referred to, part # 24920 is compatible with your 2015 Honda Fit. My contact at Draw-Tite has confirmed the fit. For a bike rack, you'll want to choose one that's Class I compatible like the Swagman Trailhead, part # S63360. You an see the rest of the Class I compatible bike racks by clicking the provided link. • Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2015 Honda Fit LX
We do offer three brands of light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I trailer hitch for your 2015 Honda Fit LX and all can be seen on the link provided. I suggest the first one shown, Draw-Tite # 24920, since it has the same capacity as the others but costs less. Most trailer hitches do bolt on rather than weld into place and when installed correctly as per the manufacturer's instructions they will be secure. It is important to install the included fasteners to the right torque (tightness) by using...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver to Accommodate a Hitch Bike Rack for a 2015 Honda Fit
I have a couple recommendations for your setup! First, the trailer hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite 1-1/4 inch hitch # 24920 because it's currently the most popular hitch for your 2015 Honda Fit. It will have a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. The 2015 Honda Fit will work with only Class-I accessories such as bike racks, cargo carries, ball mounts and tube covers. Please note that only Class-I with 1-1/4 inch receivers are available for the 2015 Honda Fit. Keep in mind that when...

  • Hitch Adapter With Rise for Class I Trailer Hitch on 2018 Honda Fit
The Brophy Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver with 5" Rise # HT5R can be used with a Class I hitch like the Draw-Tite # 24920 you have on your 2018 Honda Fit but there is an important catch: the use of an adapter will reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50 percent. What that means is that the 200 lb tongue weight capacity of your hitch will be reduced to 100 lbs so themost your cargo tray and its cargo could weigh is 100 lbs. If that weight capacity will work for you...

  • Bending Muffler Hangers When Installing Trailer Hitch on 2015 Honda Fit
When installing the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24920 on your 2015 Honda Fit you will indeed need to first detach the exhaust from the rubber isolators so that it can be lowered. Then after the hitch is in place Draw-Tite recommends bending the hanger spears downward just about 1/2 inch to allow for additional muffler clearance when reattaching it. This isn't necessarily a requirement as you might get sufficient clearance as is, but just something you can do if you find...
