I am looking at the etrailer hitch and curt hitch for my 2021 Ford Ranger. They look really similar, is there a big difference.

You are correct that the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63ZR and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13417 for your 2021 Ford Ranger are almost identical. Both of these hitches are made in the USA, have a bolt-on, no-drill installation and have the same weight capacities. They will also both provide you with a 2" hitch receiver which is the most common size used for hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers and ball mounts.

The real difference between these two hitches is actually cosmetic. The Curt hitch is a gloss black finish, while the etrailer hitch has a matte black finish. Personally, I like the way the matte black looks when installed on your Ranger. I feel like it does a better job of blending in and feeling more from the factory. I have included a picture of both hitches installed on a Ranger for you to check out.
