Hello, how do I get the original retaining clip off the drive pin of my solera rv awning?

In order to remove the old retaining pin from the drive pin on your Solera awning you will first need to remove the cover. The Drive Head Retaining Clip # LC266137 slides into the groove on the Drive Head Pin for Solera Power RV Awnings # LC266141. You just need to get the retaining pin off of the pin, which can be done by prying it off with a tool that can fit under the top of the pin or by pulling it off with a pair of pliers.

There is not a specific way to remove the original retaining pin and since it is being replaced, you do not need to be super careful about not damaging it during removal.

It is also important to note that wen replacing the drive pin you will also need 2 of the Retaining Clips # LC266137 and 1 Bushing # LC281828.
