When you need real towing muscle, this hitch brings it. Rated for a maximum 16,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 2,400 lbs tongue weight, it’s built for heavy-duty jobs that demand stability and confidence. Add a weight distribution setup and the rating climbs to 17,000 lbs GTW while keeping the same 2,400 lbs TW limit. The square-tube design delivers the kind of strength you can count on when pulling loaded trailers or equipment.
No welding or fabrication needed here—this hitch bolts straight onto the frame using the supplied hardware kit. Everything lines up cleanly for a snug fit that doesn’t require modifications. The black powder coat finish laid over a protective base coat fights off corrosion and rust from weather and road grime, so it stays looking sharp even after years of towing.
The standard 2" x 2" receiver opening works with ball mounts, pintle combos, cargo carriers, or extensions rated for serious weight. Whether you’re setting up for a car hauler, utility trailer, or heavy cargo platform, this receiver size makes it easy to get the right connection for your setup. It’s a solid match for anyone who regularly hauls gear and wants a hitch that won’t flex under load.
This Class V XD hitch isn’t overbuilt—it’s built right. It’s assembled strong enough to outlast hard use and still deliver dependable results every time you hook up. With its precise fit and durable construction, it’s a dependable foundation for any heavy-duty towing setup where consistency and reliability matter most.

A year out I couldn’t be more pleased with this Curt Class V XD hitch apart from the gouges and scratches that occurred in shipping. It is beefy, heavy, and stout. Quality is top notch. It is likely more than I need, but I rest easy knowing that it is surely enough for my purposes occasionally towing a double-axle 18-foot trailer loaded with topsoil or mulch. Unless anything has changed with this hitch over the past year, I can recommend it without reservation. And I hope Curt has improved upon their packaging to minimize the kind of in-transit damage I experienced.

When installing thought I had been given the wrong hitch because the hitch was wider than my frame rails. Realized my fram rails needed seperated. Put a high jack inbetween to spread it, installed hitch and now its firm once again.
