what are the with dimensions for this hitch? I am looking to see if it could be adapted for a 2001 Bluebird school bus.

I have a solution for you, but the Curt # C15325 is a custom fit hitch designed for older Chevy K-Series pickups; the distance between the mounting holes from side to side will be approximately 35".
We have seen many folks these days adding hitches to similar Bluebird bus chassis like your 2001 Bluebird and the one we usually recommend is the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 18" to 51" Wide # C13702. This is a multi-fit, adjustable hitch that can be fit to frames 18" to 51" wide; you'll want to measure the distance between the two side frame stanchions on your Bluebird, and confirm that you've got a C-channel frame.
The alternative would be the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # C13703 which can fit C-channel, I-beam and box frame chassis between 22" and 72" apart. I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to have a look at.
