Can you tell me the distance between the frame rails on this trailer hitch? I need something that will fit a 37inch rail.

If your frame rails on your 1989 Chevy truck are 37 inches apart the Curt hitch part # C15325 would be the correct fit as that is what this hitch was designed to fit.
