Note - you will need a drill or diegrinder or file to increase the diameter of a hole in the frame to insert the bolts. Yes - working great - was fairly easy to install, just needed to muffler down a little to get into place

Fit like a glove. Exhaust on my 22 Forester Touring was slightly different shape from installation video but it still went in with the same instructions. You need 2 people (or an exhaust stand) for lifting it into place for bolting it onto the frame. Also, there's no need to completely remove the plastic cover on the driver's side; just remove the 3 screws that are easy to reach and move it out of the way temporarily during the hitch bolt-on step.1440872

After a year of light use, this hitch still looks new and is secure as new. Im glad I used touch-up paint on the enlarged frame mounting holes because we have lots of rain, and rust would probably have formed.

Terrible product when it comes damaged due to poor packaging such as no protective foam on a 40 pound item bouncing around in a cardboard box. Sent out a replacement and it was worse than the original. It was packaged in a used box using only tape that came with more holes than the original one. The original resolution from customer service was for me to repair it, they would send paint to me or a $[XX] credit. I opted to give them another shot with a “new” one and the second one was worse, see pictures for yourself.1606749

Hitch looks amazing on my Subaru Forester. It tucks in close to the bottom of the bumper and doesn't stick out past the back of the bumper like some that cause a tripping hazard. It came with instructions that were easy to follow and installation was a snap.1598016

I have not yet installed the hitch, but it appears to be a quality product. I have no doubt that it will work well on my Forester.
Like other reviews, there were issues with the packing. Putting a heavy product in a cardboard box with no packing material is not advised.The box had numerous holes on arrival with parts of the hitch exposed. Luckily no major damage or scratches.1671529

The hitch itself is very nice high quality piece. Getting the bolts fished through the uni-body was a bit of a trick, not something a typical do it yourself type should attempt without an air grinder to enlarge the hole that the bolts get fed through and the center bolt needs a T slot cut to feed the bolt stops through. Will also need a magnet with a long handle and 2ft piece of fishing wire to get the bolt wires fished in. this job took me over 3 hrs using a real auto work shop.1673199

Installation instructions/videos clear. Installation straight forward but awkward doing in home garage by myself without lift (I'm senior citizen). Well built, have had no issues with product, no problem with rattles, etc. Needed to purchase 26" 1/2" drive torque wrench for nuts; my 18" 1/2 drive torque wrench wasn't adequate.1317511

Product is solid and appears well made. Instructions were fairly clear, but at least for me a video on [online] made the fish tapping step a little more obvious.

Only critique for the hitch would be the safety chain mount being flat stock makes some chains annoying to clip in compared to round stock.

Shipping brought the rack in good condition, but I’m incredibly surprised it did. Massive box with the hitch and my wiring harness just bouncing around inside with almost no effort to secure them.1637471

Easy solo-installation. Precut holes lined up perfectly and instructions were clear and easy to follow. Product performed with zero issues. My wife was rear-ended recently, the 5” rise hitch took the entirety of the blow. After inspections by Subaru they concluded there was zero damage to the car, frame and hitch receiver. 5” rise was bent and replaced. Not sure if its protocol to replace this despite the mechanic’s assessment but I included this to support the idea that this receiver is sturdy and well designed for use well beyond the capabilities of this car.1625030

The hitch itself is GREAT! It looks strong and beefy. A lot stronger than the under frame of the vehicle it’s going under. This will be the 3rd hitch I have purchased from you folks. You never disappoint when it comes to quality,information,and installation tutorial.
It is disappointing that the way you box the hitch is terrible. It truly does not protect the hitch from any damage from the carrier. (UPS) Hitches are heavy so I’m sure it is totally mishandled. The box mine was shipped in was pretty beat up, it’s amazing that the hardware and wire assemble did not fall out of the box.1633207

This was incredibly easy to install and took about an hour. etrailer has a bunch of videos on YouTube, one with a 2019 Subaru Forester that would have been the same process as my 2022 Wilderness and the video covered every part of the process. The hitch looks good on the car and has the same capacity as the vehicle can pull. I will mainly use this for a bike rack. I also bought the wiring harness that plugs directly into the car which took a total of 5 minutes to install. I spent less than $200 for everything which would have been $500 for an official Subaru trailer hitch ($700 if they install it to keep it under warranty). Couldn't recommend this enough.1264639

Still great after a year. I use it to occasionally pull a trailer for yard waste a few times a year and for a bike rack regularly. Its held up well.

Great quality, and the directions were clear and easy to follow. Took me about six hours to install, which included a trip to Home Depot and then another to Lowe’s to find something that would work to enlarge the holes. (Tip: Lowe’s has a 2-step Unibit by Irwin, 7/8” to 1 1/8” for about $xx. Expensive, but it definitely made the job easier.) The exhaust hangers were a pain to remove; use lube to make them easier to work off. I did the optional step of drilling the exhaust heat shield because I didn’t want to leave it off. There is one bolt that will not be replaced when you reinstall it. There is also one bolt on the driver’s side cover that will not be replaced. It will be a huge help if you have a friend hold up the hitch when you bolt it on, or use jack stands. I struggled working it into place by myself. I’ve been an etrailer customer for years. They are hands down the best retailer for all your towing needs, and their customer service is top notch.1582140

Had an extra hand to install. Took us approximately 2 hours. That includes setting up and scrambling for tools. The toughest part was taking the rubber hangers off the muffler. Everything after that was a breeze.

However, unlike etrailer's video, where a 4th hole on the chasis was enlarged and left open, we followed Curt's installation sheet instead. We enlarged the hole where the middle bolt would go through. That way, the hitch would cover up all 3 holes, and the 4th hole remained untouched and sealed.

Aesthetically, seeing the round tubes under the bumper may not be pleasing to some. But they are only noticeable from a distance. Or if you're standing close to the vehicle, you would have to bend over to see it. It isn't that bad really.1573094
