The Yakima OutPost HD Overland Truck Bed Rack lets you haul heavy gear without losing the weather protection of your tonneau cover. The included adapters slide right into the T-slots of Retrax XR, Pace Edwards UltraGroove, or Ford Embark LS covers, so there’s no drilling or complicated setup. Once installed, the mid-height rack keeps cargo above the bed but still easy to reach. You can load kayaks, ladders, or even a rooftop tent—all while keeping your gear under the cover secure and dry.
This rack is tested and rated for up to 300 lbs on-road and 180 lbs off-road, making it strong enough for serious work and overland use. It’s made from sturdy aluminum with a black powder coat that resists rust and corrosion. The uprights stand 13" above the bed rails, giving you a stable platform with a low center of gravity for better balance and less sway on rough terrain.
Both the inside and outside of the crossbars have channels that accept Yakima channel-mount or clamp-on gear. Add tie-downs, eye bolts, off-road lights, or paddle holders exactly where you need them. The 78" crossbars have rubberized strips in the top channels to cut wind noise and drag, and the etched measurements help you center your setup. You can even add SideBar rails (sold separately) for more mounting space when you’re carrying extra gear.
Installing or removing the rack takes just minutes. The QuickChange system uses BedGrip clamps and tonneau adapters that slide into place and tighten down securely—no drilling required. Built-in tie-down points on the uprights and crossbars make it simple to strap down whatever you’re hauling. When it’s time to switch setups or head to the car wash, you can take it off just as quickly and reinstall it later without losing alignment.
Yakima tested the OutPost HD with real-world off-road conditions—speed bumps, evasive turns, and rough trails—to exceed ISO standards. The rack’s design holds steady through bumps and vibrations so your gear stays put. SKS lock cores secure the uprights to your truck, and the signature bottle openers built into the ends of the crossbars add a little fun when the work or adventure day is done.

Rack system works very good. Easy to take off and on my F150. Wish it was more adjustable to lower the system a few inches. Also because of the bed formation cannot place anywhere on the bed. Overall it is stable and rides well

The products durability is great. Find the right height for my truck was more challenging. I wish I had not gotten this particular product. Doesn’t go above my truck bed cab.

I think the bottle opener feature advertised should work! I emailed about that shortly after installing the product, even sending photos, and no one from your company every reached back out to me to resolve the issue.
After researching many truck racks I decided to purchase this one. The staff at etrailer were very helpful and friendly . The product arrived on schedule with no problems. The installation was fairly easy straightforward. I must say that I made the right decision in choosing this product as the quality is very good. Once I got it installed it was rock solid. The following week I made a 600 plus miles trip to the mountains with a Thule cargo box installed on it and had zero problems. I would check it whenever I stopped to make sure it was still secure and it remained rock solid with no issues. I am very satisfied with this Yakima rack and would highly recommended it. I also recommend etrailer for doing business with. They followed up with me on my purchase to see if I was satisfied or had any problems. I will do business with them again!

Great rack system for tonneau cover with rail system. Easy install and very well made, the only down side is when you order the system for the tonneau cover you also get all the hardware for non tonneau cover trucks. Excessive amount of expensive hardware you’ll never use with your tonneau cover installed
