Question:
I have a 2021 Jeep Cherokee and I was wanting a hitch. Which one is better the Curt or the etrailer?

There are three differences in the two receivers. The etrailer Hitch item # e73ZR mounts slightly higher and will offer more ground clearance but the installation is more difficult.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C13395 has a higher towing and tongue weight capacity. The Curt has a maximum gross trailer weight of 5,500 lbs and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 675 lbs. The etrailer has a Maximum gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 500 lbs.
I recommend going with the Curt Hitch Receiver item # C13395. The installation method is easier and it has a higher weight capacity. The difference in mounting points isn't a significant enough of a difference to overcome the other advantages the Curt hitch receiver has.
I have attached pictures of each of these receiver hitches so you can view the final products for yourself. The Curt hitch receiver item # C13395 is the maroon Jeep with the Curt license plate.
If you are in need of a wiring harness to control the lighting functions on your trailer I recommend the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector item # C56406.
You will want to verify what your Jeep Cherokee is capable of towing. You can find this information inside the door panel of your vehicle and if it is not there you can call a dealership with your VIN and they will be able to tell you.
