Expert Reply:
The towing capacity of a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited with the 3.2L engine and trailer tow package is 4,500 lbs per page 378 of your owner's manual. For future reference, if you ever need to know what the towing capacity of a vehicle is, the owner's manual will be the best place to look. It looks like all models with the trailer tow package came with trailer wiring but only some also have a trailer hitch. If you do not have a trailer hitch then I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13395 because of the hidden design in which only the receiver tube is visible (see photo).
Also, if you will be towing a trailer near 3,500 lbs then odds are it has brakes which means you also need a brake controller. For this, I recommend the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180. The reason for this is because it does not require any modifications to the tow vehicle, it just plugs into the 7-way and you use your phone to customize settings and activate the manual override. It uses a device you are already comfortable using (your phone), you do not need to read an entire comprehensive manual and familiarize yourself with the controls and codes to use it. Please note that if your phone loses power the brake controller will still function as normal save for the manual override.
