Hello everybody, this is Jeff with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this CURT 15 amp powered converter wiring kit. Now this wiring kit here will allow you to run wire from your vehicle's battery to power your trailer's lights. It is designed to work with all the powered converter wiring harnesses. Basically what this kit does, it attaches your converter box and it connects that converter box to your vehicle's battery using this harness and all the connectors. Basically what that does is it'll offer circuit protection and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness.

So as a result, there's virtually no draw on your taillight circuits. The kit will include, I got everything I got laid out here. We'll start with the wire. It's a 20 feet of 12 gauge wire 'cause you're gonna run this from the front of where your battery's at to the rear. And then it comes with an inline fuse holder, and it included a TC 15 amp fuse.

Right here is a piece of double face foam adhesive pad that you're gonna attach that converter box to a nice flat surface, two butt connectors, one ring terminal, self-tapping screw, and then some cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring. But basically, and it comes with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this all goes together. But just briefly how this will connect, you'll have your converter box and that converter box will have two wires that you'll need to connect. One of them's the power wire that's gonna run to your vehicle's battery to the front of the car. Other one is a white wire just for a ground.

So this self-tapping screws are used for if you need to make a ground nearby to attach that white wire to. And then what you'll do with that power wire, you'll take one of these butt connectors, put it on the end of this wire, and connect that to that power wire coming out of the converter box. And then you'll run this wire all the way up to the front to where your battery is and you don't wanna connect it directly to the battery. Again, you wanna run it through this inline fuse holder to protect it. So you'll take your other butt connector, put it on the end here, and then connect it to one end of this inline fuse holder.

And then on the other end, you'll take this ring terminal and attach that and that'll connect to the battery. And then once that's all connected, just pop this open. Take your 15 amp fuse, go ahead and insert it into your fuse holder. Once you get it in there, push it in, put your cap on, and now you're all ready to go. And as I said, they meant they offer these extra cable ties to take up any slack in that wiring that you run from the front of your vehicle to the rear.
