  • Flush-style hitch lock is used in place of standard pin and clip to prevent theft of ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory
    • Secure your bike rack, cargo carrier, hitch cover and more to your trailer hitch
  • Ball-bearing locking system on both locks provides maximum security and ease of use
    • Just pop the deadbolt onto the end of the pin and the lock will automatically engage

    • Application: trigger-latch-style ball couplers
    • Inside pin length (span): approximately 3/4"
    • Pin diameter: 1/4"
  • Hitch receiver lock:
    • Application: 2" x 2" trailer hitch receivers
    • Inside pin length (span): 2-1/2"
    • Pin diameter: 5/8"
  • Limited 1-year warranty

The unique ball-bearing locking system on these Lifelong locks is supremely easy to use. When you pop the deadbolt onto the end of the pin, the integrated ball bearings engage the lock automatically.

This ball-bearing system also ensures that the structural integrity of the hitch lock's pin is maintained throughout. A typical padlock-style hitch lock has a significant taper at the end of the pin where the lock snaps into place. This taper weakens the pin, making it easier to break or cut. Because the ball bearings are responsible for engaging the lock on this Lifelong lock, no taper is needed. So, the pin diameter is the same along the entire length of the lock. The result is a hitch lock that is strong, durable and highly tamper resistant.

I have not used the product yet but the locks look as good as advertised can’t wait to try them out

The trailer lock fell apart in about six months. The two balls and spring fell out and made it unusable. The hitch lock still works but only used that a couple times

The locks are still hard are work, I use them regularly. I do like them a lot except I sometimes struggle with the keys as they go in both directions, and turn both directions but only open one way. I also lost one of black rubber boot/cap, other than that they seem to work pretty good.

Its been a year and its still holding on perfectly no issues no concerns.
Miguel S - 07/09/2020

I like the receiver lock. The ball pin lock was too short to use.

It worked great

I most likely would have given 5 stars. But the small latch lock was too small, for my trailer latch. The lock itself has a 3/4" span, and I need at least a 1" span.

The hitch pin is fine no issues
trigger lock broke the first time I tried to use it. It will not lock or unlock it just flops back and forth. Was rather disappointing.

Although I haven't use the locks yet, they seem to be made well. The keys fit the locks securely and work smoothly. Seems to be good value for the price.

Always reliable with quality products

Junk. Coupler lock froze up on second use. Tumbler mechanism is quite flimsy. Phone with customer support and Bulldog said to spray it with WD 40. It was clear to me, with two locks keyed alike in my hand, that one set of tumblers worked properly, and the other was broken internally. This should not happen on second use. If I was on the road, nighttime, tired, small toolkit, trailer locked to tow vehicle, I would have been pissed, to say the least. After a couple of taps of the hammer, the lock popped open and the coupler pin fell out of the lock casting. Cheap Junk! Customer support was very helpful, and offered refund. I'm going back to my trusty old brass Master padlock.

When I first received this trailer lockset, the hitch pin lock only locked into position about 10% of the time. I called etrailer and told them about the issue. Their customer service was great and called me the same day to get a better handle on the problem. They shipped a replacement out even before I shipped the defective one back to them. etrailer is a great company and has terrific customer service that personally calls you to follow up on everything. I will definitely be doing business with them on my future needs.

Nice, quality lock set, that should keep my utility trailer secure when traveling. Weather covers on key slots are a nice touch. Feel heavy and well made. I'd buy them again.

Theyve been working great. One thing Ive found that has made a big difference is keeping lock mechanism lubricated. They gave me fits for awhile, as they come with minimal lube I n them, but for easy operation should be liberally oiled inside lock mechanism.
Rico N - 02/06/2016

Great product. I should have read the description a little closer, though. The hitch receiver on my truck is too large for the hitch pin. The hitch pin looks like it was made for a 2 inch receiver. I have a 3 inch receiver with 2 inch adapter. However, the trailer coupler lock fits and works great. The hitch pin size is detailed in the item description, so make sure you get a size that will fit for you. I didn't read the size, so that's my fault. E-trailer had a great price and shipped extremely quickly.

excellent product sold under several brand names. Liked mine so much I bought one for a friend. Near impossible to pick according to a lock smith

Still using them both have held up to nasty New England weather just fine. You cant go wrong with theses locks.
T.L - 12/09/2014

very sturdy well built locks. will be getting another coupler lock for my other trailer. I won't be worrying about someone walking up popping out a pin and walking away with my hitch while I'm in town shopping or the pin coming out and the hitch pulling out while I'm pulling a trailer.

Nice fit and finish to this set of locks. They came with other parts (spare trailer tire, spare tire carrier, and chocks) I ordered at the same time from etrailer. The parts shipped earlier than expected, which was nice because I had a trip planned and assumed these wouldn't arrive before I left. I don't order a lot of stuff on-line, but I would definitely do so again with etrailer. Competitve pricing and quality products.

Piece of junk. After having it on the truck all winter, ended up cutting the rubber cap off and the lock was rusted shut. Spent about an hour with a hammer and pry bar getting the thing out of the receiver. Afraid to use the other one so it's a nice shiny paper weight on my workbench.

This lock combination is amazing, and arrived very quickly thanks to the superfast shipping from etrailer! The quality is even better than I expected for the price. I am tired of having to change the lock out every couple of seasons, and with this lock set I know I am going to be good for years to come. I love the rubber end cap, and the fact that the lock set looks and feels tough and secure.

Thank you for your review. The pin is three quarters of an inch long. It is a good idea to measure how wide the latch is on the coupler.

I have had this same lock on my vehicle for several years. It’s a good design in general as it’s not easily snapped off by thieves. That’s why I bought this second lock set for my wife’s new car to prevent her tow ball from being stolen. The only reason I’m not five starring it is that it is difficult to get it to lock. I had to put the key in and turn it left and right multiple times while trying to get the key tumbler to snap down. I would definitely buy it again.

All ok from shipping with great communication. Just installed products but they are good and heavy so think they will be ok. Locking mechanism seems cheap n nasty so we will see.. There is a lot of trust riding on this simple pin so I would hope it has been tested and built well.

I should have listened to all of the negative reviews. This lock set is very poorly built. I was able to unlock both locks by only inserting the key about 1/4 of the way in and turning the key. I bet I could break open the receiver lock with a simple screwdriver. It also came missing both of the rubber caps.....I have similar locks made by Anderson Hitch that are far superior. I do not recommend and will not purchase again.

Great product just what I wanted to secure my new trailer.
etrailer service was great as always will be shopping again .
Thanks Job well done

Works great would recommend to anyone who wants to secure you trailer thanks etrailer

I received the wiring harness last week and put it on yesterday. It works issues at all.

I received the Bulldog Lifelong Trigger and Hitch Receiver locks today. They work great and makes me feel more confident when my trailer is sitting in a parking lot for a long period of time.

The locks are well made and I don't think you could knock them off with a sledge hammer.

Another thing I like about Etrailer is they ship fast.

Very satisfied.

I’ve had nothing but wonderful experience with etrailer. My first hitch, I ran over a set of keys and they were extremely helpful and had a new set shipped to me in 3 days. My second order was a bulletproof 4” drop hitch delivered safely in 3 days with free shipping! There’s no other company that I’ve done business with that has been so helpful and urgent to ship their product. I will never buy from another place!

  • Which Receiver and Trigger Lock for 2" Receiver and Wesco Trailer with Trigger Latch Coupler
Since your 2015 Mercedes Benz GLA-Class has a 2" hitch receiver, the Bulldog Lifelong Trigger-Style Coupler Lock and 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # BD580404 will fit on your hitch as long as the outside measurements on the tube are not greater than 2-1/2". When it comes to the coupler lock, as long as the trigger-latch on your coupler is not wider than 3/4", the included coupler lock will also work on your Wesco trailer (this is the most common trigger latch size). • How to Correct Lock that Seized from Salt Exposure
Salt is brutal on steel, especially surfaces that you cannot easily see and keep clean, such as the internal parts of a lock. Regular applications of an anti-corrosive like PB Blaster on a new lock can help prevent some of this deterioration but if the lock didn't get this routine "TLC" and is now seized you may be able to dissolve the corrosion but it may take a few applications and some patience while the solvent works. Apply the spray solvent to the key hole. Try to get as much of the...

  • How to Remove a Stuck Bulldog Locking Hitch Pin from Trailer Hitch
Sounds like the internal ball-bearings on your Bulldog Lifelong Trigger-Style Coupler Lock and 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, # BD580404, may be stuck. Try using a penetrating spray lubricant, like the UltraLube Biobased Spray Lubricant and Penetrant. The spray lubricant will penetrate to the locks bearing and help break up any contaminates that may be causing the lock to stick. Plus, the spray will make separating the lock easier due to lowering the surface resistance of the metal lock.

  • Troubleshooting Key That Won't Fit Inside Bulldog CCP Hitch Lock
If you're having trouble getting the key to fit completely inside the lock core of your Bulldog Hitch Lock like # BD580404 then there might be some corrosion/debris built up inside that just needs to be cleaned out. I recommend trying to spray some lubricant like WD40 inside the lock and letting it sit for a bit. You may want to repeat this process a few times while sliding the key in to try and lubricate the mechanism. Hopefully this will clean out the lock so that it will work again....
