How wide are these exactly? My trailer door opening measures 80-1/2 inches.

Hey Dylan - both M-3 plates measure 81-3/4 inches wide, so you'd need to trim off a little bit. The aluminum one # M348FR would be easier to trim, so I'd pick that over the steel one. The hinge runs the full width so you’ll still get solid support.
If you don't want to trim, and you think 7 feet (72") would be enough length, I'd instead go with the Caliber Edge Glide transition plate # CA97EJ which is heavy duty plastic and would work well for you. It's also very lightweight and easy to use and install.
What kind of trailer are you mounting it to, and what is the material of the door?
