Hi Allen!
There are a couple differences between the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Multi Zone - 13,500 Btu - Black - R32 # FR85TD and Single Zone - 13,500 Btu - Black - R32 # FR25TD. Both use the same Air Distribution Box # FR68TD and Chill HE RV Roof Air Conditioner Unit # FR38TD, but I have the other parts broken down below:
Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Multi Zone - 13,500 Btu - Black - R32 # FR85TD
-Multi Zone Controller for Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner # FR53TD
-Wall Thermostat for Furrion Chill HE RV AC - Multi Zone # FR78TD
Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 13,500 Btu - Black - R32 # FR25TD
-Wall Thermostat for Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner - Single Zone # FR88TD
-Single Zone Controller for Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner Setup # FR98TD
So it's basically the thermostats and control units that are different between them. Other than that, they are the same.
As to the trouble you having with choosing one, where are you wanting to install it? If it's like a bed room, I would do the Single Zone # FR25TD. Yes, you will have a thermostat specifically for that room, but I think that makes more sense than cooling the entire camper when you only need the one room cooled.
Now if you are wanting to supplement the cooling for the whole camper with an extra unit, the Multi Zone # FR85TD is going to be the better option. It can be tied in with another Chill HE unit and will replace that thermostat with the new one that can handle more than one unit. Just make sure your current Chill HE was made after 2024 and uses the R32 coolant. The new ones cannot be used with units made prior to 2024 as those used a different type of coolant.
Out of curiosity, what kind of camper are you wanting this for?

Thanks for the reply. We a have a Surveyor Legend 296QBLE, this would be an additional AC unit in the front bedroom. Last summer we were in MI and it was very hot. The single AC unit struggled to maintain and basically never stopped running. The camper came pre wired for an additional AC unit and just for ease of installation I was leaning towards the single zone but when I was looking at them the multi zone was cheaper and that confused me. I see that's not the case anymore. Thanks again for the help.
