What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the Flint Hill Goods coupler lock. So what this is gonna do is go through your coupler and not allow the latch to be thrown up. So whether it's hooked up to your vehicle or just sitting here, nobody can mess with it when you're not around. Let's check it out. Now the one we're looking at today is gonna be three and three eighths of an inch, so you see it goes right through the hole here to keep the latch from going up.
So this wouldn't necessarily be good on a smaller latch that goes up on top, it'd be too much hanging out from side to side, but only one of these that runs through the coupler itself, it's gonna work great. You get two keys with this. You got the barrel lock on this side. It's even textured so it helps you get a grip when you go to turn the key. So you wanna take this, line up that with the portion on the lock.
So right there. Turn it. And it locks. And then you go to put it through and go through the side, I'll show you over here. Just goes through like that.
On the other side, same thing. Put it on there, grab, turn the key, and it's locked. Have a dust cap on this side. You can just cover up the lock, that way it keeps all that dirt, dust and debris out of there, keeps it working longer. The whole thing's been made out of black powder coat steel, so don't have to worry about it rusting or corroding when you leave it on your trailer all the time, you leave it with a trailer that's unattended out in the ailments, it's not gonna bother it.
Overall, I think this is a good idea to add to your trailer, so that way nobody can mess with a latch when you're not around and it's secure. So whether it's disconnected, sitting at the lot, or connected up to your ball mount on your vehicle, you don't have to worry about anything. Well, I think that does it. These are heavy locks. They are spring loaded so it is just a turn of the key and they open. To close push in and turn key.
This is a well made product, I especially like not having to use the key to lock it. Communication was good and it arrived on time.
Good price and quality of the lock seems good and shipping time was avg. but it was $5 so what can you expect for that amount.
I have bought quite a few items from etrailer and I have not been disappointed.
This particular coupler latch lock is built better and I especially like the round key.
The large diameter of the body on this lock makes it interfere with the body of the coupler, so you cannot use it on a standard 2 15/16 travel trailer coupler latch as I had intended. I think I may be able to do a bit of grinding on the body to create some flats that will allow it to work because it is close to being able to work on my coupler.
Product worked exactly as stated. The product was easy to code to my truck key. I am very happy with the Bolt trailer hitch lock, also was looking for a lock for my trailer coupler that was sturdy, easy and quick to unlock and the MaxxTow Trailer Coupler lock is Pretty much what I was looking for.
The first one did not work well, but trailer quickly made it right by shipping me a replacement that works jusT fine.
Great lock. Key fits well and movement is smooth. My hitch needed the full 2.5" and this fits nicely. The dust cover fits nicely as well. (no picture of actual lock, but this is the style of tongue hitch I have)
Work well - process to lock them is kind of a pain though. Push on one end and hold cylinder from rotating to lock.
I’m very happy with this coupler lock. I’m using it on a Maxey utility trailer with a Demco Easy latch adjustable coupler. It was a little long for my application, so I used a rubber grommet to protect the finish on the coupler. Great product!
Perfect for what I needed for the surge Brakes on my car EZ-Tow Dolly. I had previously ordered one that was 2-1/2" which should of fit but the hitch had some metal flares on it that made it necessary to get the longer one. Very good product - and I really like the round-cylinder key system. I recommend this product for anyone that has a surge brake system with the 1/4" shaft - pin locking system.

The coupler lock has been working just fine - no issues. I use this product with my tow dolly with surge brakes. This is a fairly expensive dolly and this lock makes me feel like the unit is bit more secure with the couple being locked vise just having a pin installed.
Lives in my trailer, so far so good. No significant wear/rust. Trailers lives outside, under a roof.

Great product. Been using it for a year now with no issues.
Great product. Been using this coupler latch lock about a year now. It has kept my Airstream travel trailer locked and secured to the hitch ball while towing to 20 different States. I would purchase this lock again.

Works good. Only complaint I would have is you have to hold it to lock the cylinder in place on the end. A pain sometimes but it works.
