Question:

Converting 2022 Cargo Mate 714TA2 enclosed trailer into mobile equipment demo/showroom for my business. Most equipment can be loaded or unloaded with a cart but several crates will require pallet jack. I don’t expect that to be consistent use but need to make sure it can accommodate approximately 600 lbs via pallet jack. Prefer weight and look of aluminum but not sure it’s right for my application?

Hey Dustin. I installed the Enclosed Trailer Transition Plate item # M368FR on a trailer here when we first got them in and you're good! That plate is single solid piece of steel. It's got a heavy duty piano style hinge that has been riveted and welded to the plate. You're not going to have any issues using a 600 lbs pallet jack with this transition plate.

Make sure you watch your fingers when you drop the Transition Plate item # M368FR. It weighs only 40 lbs but grabbing it from one side by yourself is the best way to not smash your hand.

What kind of equipment do you sell?

Pipe fusion equipment. I went ahead and ordered 2 x M368FR for door transition and trailer gap. I saw it was recommended to use through bolts on another thread. Can you recommend a size and quantity for my trailer transition and door transition?

@Dustin I sure can. When we installed the item # M368FR we used 14 1-1/4" diameter stainless steel carriage bolts. How long you need are going to depend on the thickness of your ramp and trailer floor.

@JerredH. Got it thanks. Silly question, did you use lock washers and nuts or washers and lock nuts?

@Dustin You're welcome. I would use a locknut or thread sealant.
