Most brake controllers still use bulky boxes that take up space near your knees, but this one mounts completely out of sight. The main unit measures just 3-3/8" long x 3" wide x 7/8" thick, and it tucks neatly under the dash using the included adhesive pad and zip ties. You control everything from your smartphone through Bluetooth, so there’s nothing cluttering up the interior.
All adjustments happen right in the OneControl app. From your phone, you can change max output, fine-tune sensitivity, and even apply manual override with the big orange on-screen button. It also shows live brake output on a circular gauge so you know exactly how much power is going to the trailer brakes. Once paired, it stays connected automatically, and if Bluetooth ever drops out, braking continues using the most recent settings for a smooth, safe stop every time.
Inside the Echo is a built-in 3-axis accelerometer that senses how fast you’re slowing down and matches the trailer’s braking accordingly. Light pedal pressure means light trailer braking; hard stops get instant, firm response. That proportional control keeps everything steady—no jerky push-pull feeling—and reduces wear on both tow vehicle and trailer brakes over time. It works with 1 to 4 axles and supports electric trailer brakes.
Hooking it up takes just minutes because it plugs directly into your vehicle’s factory brake control port using the included custom harness. No cutting or splicing wires. Once connected, pairing over Bluetooth only takes a few seconds, and calibration happens automatically after plugging in your trailer’s 7-way connector. A color LED confirms each step—blue for pairing, green when ready to tow—so setup is straightforward from start to finish.
If you tow more than one trailer, you can store multiple profiles within the app and switch between them with a quick swipe. Each profile keeps its own max output and sensitivity settings so you can go from one trailer to another without re-tuning anything. That makes this controller an easy fit for anyone who swaps trailers often or manages a small fleet.

Still 5 stars, lots of trips including a long tow of over 5000 miles. Consistently worked flawlessly. Mild annoyance that they changed the app but once I learned how the new app worked it continues to function flawlessly.

No issues with the product they are working great. Same as the day I installed them. Took a little time dialing the strength and how quick the brakes come on but overall very happy.

I reached out to Curt about the problems with the new app. They advised that the new app runs the same as the old app it has to run in the foreground unless they are using the button which is the same as the old app. They wanted to know if you were having trouble getting past that screen. Which type of cell phone do you have and which IOS are you using?
