Question:

Im trying to locate brake controller plug under dash. Vehicle does have 7 wire plug on passenger side rear of vehicle. If it has 7 way, does vehicle automatically have brake controller plug under drivers side panel?

Yes, the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse has a plug under the dash for an adapter. You can use part # C51422. Take a look at the installation video I attached. Our installer finds the plug behind the dash at the 3 minute mark.

You left out the dark blue wire which activates the electric brakes. The manual also states that this wire is not connected at the fuse panel located under the hood. I am in the process of connecting the controller but am unable to locate the harness. It must be tucked away in some remote place.

@Frank The blue wire that activates the trailer brakes will go from the brake controller back to the 7-way if you were doing a hardwire setup. Since 2019, we have updated information that you can use the wiring adapter part # C51422. There should be a plug under the dash. Take a look at the video I attached at the time stamp 3:00 minutes.
