Today we're going to be taking a look at our MaxxTow Tow Strap Loop for 2" hitches. This has a 10,000 pound weight capacity. Its part number MT70029. The tow ring here allows us to attach many different types of recovery straps, cables, or ropes. This is a 5/8" diameter shackle here, which helps with that 10,000 pound weight capacity. This has a nickel coating to it to resist any kind of corrosion.
You've got a sturdy steel construction here, with a powder coat finish. This is going to help resist any kind of corrosion that we may have. It uses a standard hitch-pin and clip or hitch-pin and lock. Those are sold separately. As you can see, it is designed to fit into a 2" by 2" receiver tube hitch.
The pin is easily removable and it has nice, large threads so you get positive grip when putting it in. The way we're going to show it in action today is we've got an ATV here. We've simulated that we've got it stuck and we need some help getting out of the mud and the muck. We're going to go ahead and throw it in the dodge here and pull our ATV out. We're going to line up our pinholes. We'll take our pin and clip, which are not included, slide them through and then we're going to secure it with the clip on this side.
With this installed, we're adding about 3" to overall length of the truck from the receiver tube to the end of our shackle holders here. With our tow strap loop securely installed, we're now going to hook up our strap to the shackle here. We'll just take a wrench, help get that started. We'll unthread the threaded pin there, remove it. That's going to allow us to bring our shackle off.
We'll then bring our tow strap loop through our shackle, bring it back up, and then we can reinsert our threaded pin. Just like that we've got our strap secured to our vehicle. We're ready to hook it up to whatever needs to be recovered. We're here at our ATV, which is simulatedly stuck. We're going to be hooking our strap up to it now. As you can see, it's through our tow strap loop there. We'll get her hooked up here. I'll jump on the bike. I've got somebody in the truck here and we'll get him to pull us on out. With our ATV recovered, that's going to complete today's look at the MaxxTow Tow Strap Loop, part number MT70029. .
