What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Bulldog winch shackle mount. So this is gonna go in a 2 1/2 by 2/2 inch hitch, and allow you to hook it up to pull somebody outta trouble. Let's check it out. This is gonna be good for helping pull somebody out if they're stuck or somebody pulling you out if you get stuck. You can easily just rotate the pin, it's threaded, and pull that out.
Remove the shackle. We're gonna add our toe strap around there and put this right back in place. Line up our pin and shackle, thread it back in. When you go to thread it in make sure you don't thread it all the way. If you do go all the way, get it tight, and then bring it by half just so it's gonna be easier to get this back off when it goes to remove it.
But with this setup, whether you're the one stuck, you're be pulling out here, or somebody else is stuck the straps are gonna be pulling for them to get them out of that situation. Now you can use it in this setup like we have here. This would be horizontally, but you can also put it in there vertically. So right now it sticks out a little bit more because of where the hole placement is in our hitch. So I'll remove the pin, take the assembly out, flip it.
You see there's other holes on the side. Now it's gonna be vertical. It's gonna go in a little bit more. So if you need clearance, you can use it one way. If you don't need that clearance maybe you're pulling from an angle, whoever's stuck, you can't quite get a good angle on it 'cause if you go in there, you're gonna get stuck too.
This option will move side to side a little bit better to help you out in those situations. Looking at the shackle, it's gonna be 7/8 of an inch. Now it's gonna have a safe working load limit of 13,000 pounds, and it's gonna have a break strength of 78,000 pounds. The whole construction is gonna be solid steel with the zinc coating. So if you leave it in the back of the truck all the time or just bring it out and it gets rained on, the elements aren't gonna bother it. It's not gonna rust or corrode on you. Some recommendations I would make is you can get alternate shackles if something was to happen. You don't have to get a whole new mount for that. I really like that aspect of it. Also, if you don't have a 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch hitch, there are some that work with two inch hitches so you can look for that as well on our website. And if you're gonna invest in this I would get a locking hitch pin here. If you plan on leaving in the back of your truck all the time in the hitch, just lock it up so nobody can mess with it when you're not around. Overall, I think it's a handy thing to have, especially, if you're off-roading quite often you're gonna get stuck and it's better than trusting a toe hook underneath the vehicle or something that might come loose. You're gonna be solid steel so you know you can trust this to get you or somebody else out of trouble. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped.

Meets my need which is a receiver hitch adapter to better attach chain and rope to move firewood logs. This fits my Curt 2.5x2.5 receiver, and also accepts my 5/16" chain grab hook as pictured. Not sure just yet which orientation I'll use most, but will experiment next wood cutting outing.
While I just received this product and have not had the opportunity to use it, I know it will meet the needs of future towing tasks the next time I have to tow a truck or car. In the past I have had to attach a tow strap to my rear axle in order to tow someone, but now I have this attached to my truck, and towing will be so much easier. The unit is solid, not hollow, and it is very strong. The customer service at etrailer was very good as well.
Very robust, extremely well made and heavy duty. It actually looks so nice I almost hate to use it and scuff it up, but I will anyway.

If you need a tow point for a truck with a class 5 receiver, this is one hefty hitch. Looks great too.
I haven’t had to use it yet, but much better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. I keep it under the seat, just in case. It’s heavy duty, and without a doubt will save mine, or someone else’s bacon sooner or later.
Heavy solid well made product! Use it on my 1 ton truck and it works great.
Just received really looks great heavy duty super fast delivery
Great well built product and company rep (Carol) was quick to follow up making sure I received everything and was satisfied!
Very heavy, solid, just what I needed for my truck.
It is hell for stout and should work well for me.
I have not had the need to try it yet.
High quality and heavy duty. Would buy again.
