Heavy-duty, hitch-mounted shackle acts as an attachment point for strap, cable, or rope. Constructed of sturdy steel. Hitch pin and clip sold separately. This thing is very poorly made. It's not welded together strata. The paint is chipped off and the D-ring pin is bent so it doesn't go all the way in. I would think something this simple should be easy to make right. Guess this is what you get when you buy made in China junk.
I'd been looking for something to use rather than my ball-hitch to hook cables, chains, and straps to to be able to pull "things". I found this item at etrailer and bought it. Already used it this week and it worked perfectly. I like that this particular unit (RA8610) can be turned so the clevis can be located horizontally or vertically.
I gave this a good rating. Not Poor, not excellent either. Grade wise would be a C. Rating/grade has nothing to do with etrailer service, it's actually the product itself, the manufacturer. First, I don't do a lot of recovery's or towing. I bought this for the occasional, hey I'm stuck, can you get me out sort of thing. If I did more, I would probably have spent more money for a Warn, or other higher priced units. So, for the price, and the usage, it's a good buy. The reason for my rating is the paint kind of looks sloppy, and kind of cheaply made, as noted by another buyer. (Aaron) Having said that, I don't doubt this will perform well, as really who cares about the looks. It's the performance that counts. The unit is going to get all mucked up anyhow from going in and out of the receiver. On the positive, I like the 4 holes, which allow you to flip the unit vertical. If you're pulling on an angle, this position is better because the D-ring can pivot in the direction of the tow.
I bought the Curt brand hitch for my Jeep JKU. This brand was a lot cheaper price than the other brands listed for this vehicle, so I was a bit skeptical. I have a Curt brand hitch on another vehicle that I got from etrailer and it was great so I bought another. When the hitch arrived it was perfect; nice finish, fit great, and an awesome value. I don't know why the other brands cost so much more, this one does the same thing for a quarter the price. Easy to install as well. Overall, win, win, win.
Product was received as promised and was same quality as described on the web site

Like others I purchased this, un wrapped it and it looked fine. I throw it into my tool box and found out later when I went to use it that the holes are drilled too small to fit any receiver pin Ive tried. I cant blame that on eTrailer but when I found out it was defective I contacted eTrailer, sent lots of pictures and details on what the problem was but received a denial on replacement request. Ive spent lots of money at eTrailer, like complete hyd disc brake conversion for my trailer. I thought it was a cheap shot on eTrailers part to not replace the item.
Good price and fast delivery, helpful people on the phone.
