Today, we're going to be taking a look at part number BDW20239. This is the Bulldog Winch 3/4" Shackle for 1-1/4" Hitches. This is designed to fit most Class I and Class II receivers. Now, when it comes to the capacity, we're looking at a 3500-lb working load limit or your vehicle's receiver capacity, so you'll want to go by whichever is lower. This is going to be great for recovery situations. Simply provides an attachment point for recovery strap. This piece is going to be the piece that mounts inside your hitch.
It's made from a solid steel construction. It's going to offer three pinhole locations, so you have one right here and then two on this side. That's going to allow the shackle to be used horizontally or vertically, and it's got the short mounting shank. That's going to enable the shackle to sit pretty close to the receiver that's mounted onto the vehicle. We have a screw pin design.
That's going to allow for easy and quick connect and disconnect of the recovery strap . Now, this is going to be great for ATVs and UTVs that have an 1-1/4" hitch on it. It is going to require a 1/2" hitch pin and clip or lock to get it secured into the hitch. That item is sold separately. You can find those right here at etrailer.com. A few measurements to go over with you real quick.
We're going to take a measurement of the overall length, basically measuring from very back to very front. We're looking at about 8". If we take a measurement from the center of the hitch pin holes to the back of the shank . so measuring from this one right here to the back of the shank, that's going to give us a measurement. It's going to be 13/16 of an inch.
From that center one, we're looking at 1-1/2". Then from the one that's closest to the shackle. That's going to give us a measurement of 2-1/4". Now, if we take a measurement from the center of those hitch pinholes to the back of the shackle, the closest point, there, of the shackle . the closest pinhole to the shackle is going to be 1". That center one, right here up top, that's going to be 1-3/4, and to the very back pinhole, that's going to be about 2-1/2". Pretty simple installation. You'll need to determine which way you want this positioned in your hitch. Slide this piece into the receiver opening of the hitch and then secure it in your hitch using a hitch pin and clip or hitch lock. That's going to do it for today's look at part number BDW20239.

Love the Bulldog winch 3/4" Ă—1-1/4 shackle.
Its very strong, works & looks great, on my Scrambler 1K. I've had the bulldog for over a year now and it has not let me down. I had a difificult time finding a shackle of this size and quality here in Canada. Until I came across etailer.com. I would definitely recommend this shackle for any atv/utv with a 1-1/4 hitch. I need to get 2 more for the RzR & Ace and for me it's a no brainer where I'll be ordering again from etrailer.com made easy. Thanks
I purchased this as a recovery device and for dragging trees/brush while off-roading. It took me until just about a month ago to finish my project buggy and get the hitch installed. When I went to put the receiver into the hitch, it was too big and wouldn't fit. It needs to be milled (which I haven't gotten around to doing quite yet). It is made of great material and is VERY heavy duty. But, that doesn't matter, because the way that it sits, it is useless. I wish that I would have been able to check out the fitment sooner, but I assumed (and we all know what that means), that it would fit without modification.
This is one high quality product. The craftmanship (fit and finish) is amazing. This is exactly what I was looking for, and the quality of the product is what I've come to expect from etrailer.com.
I hope I never have to use it but I sure am glad I have it. I install it in my trailer hitch to use as a rear tow point on my track car. It should more than do the trick IF that time ever comes.
A good 5 star rating. This shackle is very heavy duty. I just can’t wait until I install it on my SUV. My friend has one similar. Fit perfectly on my receiver. Looks great.

Still strong as ever. I painted mine black to match the receiver and back bumper. Looks great.
I used this product for my John Deere Gator for a drag.. Worked great. I am very happy with my purchase
I ordered a few products at one time and, before ordering, had some questions about compatibility. My questions were answered quickly and accurately. Products arrived more quickly than expected and were in good shape (no damage). I found the product videos very helpful when shopping. My ATV isn't here yet so I can't comment on fitment.
I purchased this for my Polaris. Fits perfect in the front. Excellent product.
Was nicer that pic better than other one I got from another website nice size shackle too bigger
Very nice construction except I had to put some black tape around it to keep it from rattling while riding.

Gets the job done.

Thank you for your feedback in your review on your Bulldog Winch Shackle BDW20239, but you noted it was too large and did not fit in your hitch. I did want to check with you, because some 1-14 inch hitches do have a stopper in them. This stopper makes the hitch shank length shorter, I wanted to see if the fit issue you had with your shackle or if it was a diameter of the shank issues.
