Excellent product, poor installation instructions. I have included the photo of the part that had to be removed before I could install the hitch - despite emailing prior to purchase to ensure an exact fit, there was no instruction to remove that part. Once that part was removed, fit was perfect. No need to temporarily remove exhaust, despite recommendation in directions. The vehicle is brand new, Rubicon 4xe. I will only use the hitch for a bike or luggage carrier, but it is heavy duty and would handle more that the Jeeps towing capacity

2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
I read the reviews paying close attention to the fact that I had a Jeep Wrangler with the tire on the rear. I chose this one because it said it would fit and allow bike racks with the tire in place. Item arrived and I easily installed it with no effort at all. Nothing had to be removed unlike the instructions. The picture below is minutes after installation. My Thule 4-bike rack would not slide into place as it was not long enough of a mount which is contrary to what the description said. I reached out to etrailer and was told that I could purchase an extender for $XX dollars more than what I bought the mount for. I contacted a local trailer supply store that had an extender for a lot less money and now it works......

2021 Jeep Wrangler
Overall excellent product. Heavy duty, nicely finished and top-notch hardware. Instructions need updating. There are supposed to be 4-holes in the Jeep frame to mount this hitch. There are, but 2-are used by the bumper plate. Had to figure it out myself. Removed the 2-bolts, spread the plate away from the frame to allow the hitch to slide up over the frame. After that, no problem.

Nice hitch. the install took about 30 mins on a 21 Sahara including getting tools out and putting them back.
The instructions are not overly clear about the bumper support that needs to be slid out so that the hitch can be install behind it. the instructions should read If this model has a bumper support installed where this hitch is to be installed. remove and reuse the factory 18mm bolts. Loosen the two 10mm bolts to slide the bracket forward enough to install the hitch, re-tighten once the hitch is installed. It should also show a diagram or picture in the instructions.
There is absolutely no need to mess with the exhaust - there is plenty of room to do the install with the exhaust in place.
Past the instructions - this is a nice hitch. the paint seems very nice and it seems to be made well. the welds look good and the 1/4"plate frame seems very stout. Its nice you don't have to remove or cut anything to do this install. Its also great to see quality SAE hardware vs the metric junk including in so many things now a days. This seems like a quality hitch.

I needed a hitch receiver that would fit my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and extend far enough that I could use by Kuat Sherpa 2.0 platform bike rack and clear the spare tire. This hitch worked perfectly and was an easy install.

Installation is close, if not a match, to the OEM product. With a little skill, there is no reason to drop the muffler.

About a 10 minute installation time on my 2023 Jeep Wrangler. I did not have to move the muffler as the directions suggested. Torque wrench fit up into the space with no problem.

Works great with my 2021 Wrangler Sport. Gives decent clearance past the spare tire. Some rust spots already after one year that need to be touched up, but that’s what salted roads do to stuff in the northern states. Of course, I added the flag plug for extra bumper appeal.

2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited
Once I figured out the alignment of the bolts it was simple. The 2018 JL has two bolts and a bracket that are already there. U loosen, slide the hitch between the bracket. I reused the 2 stock bolts and used the 2 new bolts. Looks great! Total time for install about 40 mins with torque n the bolts. Havent used it yet but will let u know if there are any issues.

Some models will have existing hardware and a spacer installed in the hitch installation location. If your Jeep has these parts, you will want to remove the bolts and spacer, keeping the bolts for re-installation with the trailer hitch.

2021 Jeep Wrangler
The quality of the product seems good. My only complaint/disappointment is that I bought this with an etrailer bike rack for a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. When it arrived and I got the hitch installed and the bike rack assembled, the arm of the bike rack hits the rear-view camera in the center of the spare tire on the Jeep so it doesn't fit (it's about an inch short) without also buying a hitch extender.

Like mentioned in previous posts, on my 2019 Moab, the two outer bolt holes have an L bracket attached already. The nuts are welded onto that bracket so no need to put a wrench on those. Slip the hitch between the steel and that bracket using the same two bolts (18mm) you just removed as well as two bolts and nuts supplied (3/4”) for the inner holes. Once again as mentioned by others, I didn’t need to move the muffler and the rubber mallet worked great to tap the hitch to line everything up perfectly.
Love the matte finish. Great quality.

Received the hitch in the morning, we installed it that afternoon. After watching an installation video from the etrailer website, my husband installed the hitch on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler JLU. It took him about an hour to complete. We bought the extended length hitch. The product fit perfectly and no need to remove the muffler.

I researched and found that there is install note that needs to be added to the manual. Some models may have existing bolts attaching a plate with weldnuts on it. The hitch will need to be slid inbetween the bracket and the mounting tube witht he factory hardware reinstalled, securing the hitch.
