Video Transcript for Detailed Breakdown of the Metal Loom Clamp

Today in this Old Trailer, we're going to review and install the Redline Metal Loom Clamp, part number A0500. The Redline Metal Loom Clamp is a solid band that goes all the way around with two pre-drilled holes, then has a coating that will help protect the wire once you squeeze it down and secure it. Slide the clamp on, close down, and I'm going to use my self tapping screw to secure it. That will do it for the review and install of the Redline half inch Metal Loom Clamp, part number A0500 on this Old Trailer. .

  • Where to Place the Four Loom Clamps to Support Brake Lines in Kit HBA16-252-82
In short; they're not secured to the trailer frame. Presumably you would strategically place the loom clamps near those fittings you mentioned from kit # HBA16-252-82 to limit any movement of those fittings. The rigidness of the metal lines will help keep those metal lines in place so the clamps would not be needed for the metal lines. We do have other loom clamps if you want more, # A0500 for 1/2 inch and # A0250 for 1/4 inch. We also have clips, # T0936600, for more brake line support. I...

  • Rewiring Boat Trailer for 7-Way to Use LED Lights
There are a number of things you will need if you want to re-wire your boat trailer to use LED lights and you should start with Junction Box # 3375601100 and 7-Way # HM20041. Keep in mind you will also need Ring Terminals # 44-5310A and Loom Clamps # A0500 For LED lights I highly recommend checking out the LED Trailer Tail Light # STL57RB (Driver's side) and # STL56RB (Passenger's side). These are submersible lights with a total of 40 diodes and have mounting holes that are 2" center to...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Tail Light That Stays On With Trailer Uncoupled and Wiring Disconnected
Since your trailer lights are getting some power even when the trailer is not hitched and not connected to the tow vehicle wiring this tell us that one of the batteries on the trailer, either the auxiliary battery for the lights or the breakaway battery for the trailer's electric brakes, is somehow leaking power to the lights. Most likely there is a short on the power leads to one (or possibly even both) of the trailer batteries. You can inspect all of the breakaway and auxiliary batteries'...

  • Parts Needed to Rewire Equipment Trailer With Brakes
We don't have a full kit but it will be fairly easy to put together. You can start with a new 7-way like the Bargman # 50-67-106. This comes with 18' of cable which will cover your needs for the most part. I also recommend using a junction box like the # 38656 along with ring terminals # 44-5310A and # DW05702-1. This will help keep everything organized. If you need additional wire to run to the lights you can use # DW02412-1 along with butt connectors # DW05744-10. If you need extra...

  • Recommended Hitch, Wiring Harness, and Brake Controller for a 2013 Toyota Highlander
I would be happy to help you set up your 2013 Toyota Highlander for towing. I will start by confirming that the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver item # e98858 does fit your Highlander. Since you do not have any vehicle connectors at the rear of your Highlander you will need both item # HM11141845 and item # ETBC7 to add a 7-way connector. The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller item # 90195 is one of our most popular brake controllers and is highly recommended. I have linked a...

  • Does Titan Brake Line Tee Secure Trailer Brake Lines
Indirectly yes, the part # T0778500 does get used with brake hoses. If you check out the attached picture you'll see that holds a union tee that hoses run to. We do have clamps that were designed to secure brake lines like with the part # A0500 for 1/2 inch and # A0250 for 1/4 inch. We also have clips, # T0936600, for more brake line support.

  • Electric Brake Conversion from Air Brakes on 15,000 lb Axle Trailer
The Dexter Electric Brake Kit w/ Cast Backing - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4" - Left/Right Hand - 15K # 23-446-447 will fit any 15K axle that have the standard 7 bolt mounting flange. These are self-adjusting brakes so there is no need for manual adjustments after the initial installation. They are labeled left-hand (driver's side) and right-hand (passenger's side) to ensure proper placement. If you need the mounting hardware, I recommend # BRKH122510 for each axle. You will also need...

  • Availability of Wiring Clips to Attach to I-Beam on EZ Loader Boat Trailer
The CE Smith Trailer Wiring Clips # CE16867A referenced in your question will fit around edges that are up to 5/32 inches thick. I am not sure how thick the I-beam is on your EZ Loader Boat Trailer but we do have the slightly larger # 464600 Clip that will work with a frame thickness of up to 5/16 of an inch. I recommend simply measuring the thickness on the beam to see if one of these options will work. If the I-beam is too thick for either of these options then your best bet will be...

  • What Gauge Wire Can the 3/8 Inch Wire Loom Hold?
3 gauge wire is about 0.229 inches in diameter, so Wire Loom 3/8" Diameter like # 39035 will give it enough space for safety without further restricting the wire for heat dispersion. It will also avoid pinching or crimping the wire. You can use the Metal Loom Clamp - 1/2" # A0500 to secure it if desired. Technically this loom could hold up to 00 gauge wire (0.365 inches diameter).

  • Clips and Clamps to Attach Wires and Wiring Harnesses to the Bottom of a Trailer Frame
There are many ways you can secure wires to a trailer. I would not recommend the use of tape as it will wear out quickly when exposed to the elements. Soldering is also not recommended because it is a more permanent method and you may need to change wires or move them in the future the hot solder would also melt the coating on the wiring, causing a short. If you can find some large enough, wire ties could be a simple solution. We have several clamps and clips that could work for this application....

  • Replacement Wire Loom to Secure RV Slide-Out Wiring
Thanks for the photo, that was a huge help! You're needing 1/2 inch wire loom, which we sell by the foot as part # 459075-1. I'd also use some 1/2 inch loom clamps, part # A0500 to secure the wire loom and hold it where it's supposed to be.

  • How Is the T-Fitting for Trailer Brake Lines Mounted Without Integrated Bracket?
There are a couple of ways to mount the Kodiak Tee Fitting for Hydraulic Brake Hose - Brass - 3/16" Female Inverted Flares # BH-T-3FIF. Many will use brake line mounting hardware on either side of the brake line which will provide enough stability like you see in the # 20TA-BLKIT pictured. Others want more of a direct mount like you are seeking use the metal loom clamp # A0500 directly on the T-fitting itself to give you that solid mount and then add extra clamps further down the brake...

  • Instructions for Completely Rewiring a 14 Foot Tandem Axle Dump Trailer
Rewiring your 14 foot dump trailer is pretty straight forward. I would start with a 20 ft. Wishbone 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness, # A20WB, to provide wiring for the stop turn and tail lights on your trailer. We have a video detailing how to install this type of harness for you to review, see link. Next, I would use the RV-Style Trailer Connector, # PK12706, and remove the 4-Way connector from the 4-Way harness and install the wires in the proper locations in the 7-Way connector. Our wiring...

To completely rewire the trailer you will need to start with a 7-way trailer side wiring harness like part # H20044. You will then need a junction box like part # 38656 to attach to the trailer. You will run the # H20044 harness into the junction box and run the wiring for the brakes and lights off of the posts in the junction box. You will need the appropriate size wire for the lights and for brakes if you have them on the trailer. You will want to run 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1...

  • What is Needed to Tow a M105A2 Military Trailer with a 2013 Dodge Durango
To convert your M105A2 military trailer to a 7-blade, I would recommend using the Epicord 7-Way with Junction Box # 277-000141. This makes the conversion simple and you don't have to worry about wiring the connector itself. You'll also need some ring terminals like # 44-5310A and some loom clamps like # A0500. The wires in the junction box are color coded as indicated below. Military wiring is typically not color-coded, so you may need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2992 and a 12V power...

  • How to Wire a Trailer for Tail Lights

We also have an LED kit, # TLL9RK. Step 1 - The trailer connector should extend 2 - 3 feet past the tongue. • Replacing Horse Trailer Wiring
If you currently have a 6-way connector on your trailer, the 7-wire # DW04914-1 will be too large for your connector. In that case, you will want to use the 6-wire # DW04906-1. If your vehicle has a 7-way connector and you've been using an adapter, this is a great time to add a 7-way connector to your trailer to avoid needing the adapter. A 7-way connector is the more commonly found connector. You can use the 7-wire # DW04914-1 with a 7-way connector # PK12706, or a pre-wired connector...

  • Screws to Use with the Wire Loom Clamp part # A0500
You would want to use some self-tapping screws like the part # FA1131822. These would not require you drill a pilot hole. Just line the screw up where you want it through the Loom part # A0500 and let the drill bit end of the screw drill the needed hole and the threads will pull it through and secure it.

  • Will the 1/2 Inch Metal Loom Clamps Work On a 5/16 Inch Frame Rail
Yes, the Metal Loom Clamp part # A0500 will work on a trailer frame that is 5/16" thick. The Metal Loom Clamp will actually work on pretty much any frame thickness but you will need to make note of the size screw used. I recommend the Hex Screw part # 101131802 for a 5/16" thick frame as it is 1/2" long. The Wire Loom part # 459075 can then be added to protect your wiring. I have attached a list of our other wiring accessories for you below as well.

  • Recommended Installation Screws for 1/2 Inch Metal Loom Clamp # A0500
For the Metal Loom # A0500 you will want to use the self-tapping screws like the part # FA1131822. The nice thing about this screw is that it doesn't require a pilot hole, just line it up and let the drill bit end of the screw do the work for you. This threaded screw will secure your loom clamp securely on your trailer. I have linked the above mentioned products to this page for your purchasing convenience.

  • Suggested Frame Clips to Secure Rubber Brake Lines on Saltwater Boat Trailer
If your boat trailer has a frame design that will directly accept the clip-in-place Redline # 464600 frame clips then this will be your easiest installation. The shortest option we carry with 3/8" female flare swivel fittings is 3' with part # MBS94FR. Since this is quite a bit more than the 10" that you need I recommend winding it up and using some loom clamps # A0500 to hold the hose up out of the way.

I did some research and found that your boat is 18-ft 9-inches long. You did not say if your trailer has brakes included which will make a difference when installing the wiring. If you do not have brakes on the trailer and you only need wiring for the lights I recommend part # A35W42B. This is a 35-ft long harness and it has a 4-way flat trailer connector included.
