Quick and easy installation of Konig XG-12 Pro Chains

How to Install the XG12 Pro Snow Chain

  1. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.
  2. Connect the plastic-covered, yellow and blue cable on the back side of the tire.
  3. Pull the chain over the top and around the tire. Connect the red hook to the red loop.
  4. Make the last connection by running the red loop through the buckle and then to the red hook attached to the tensioning cable.
  5. Simply drive forward to activate the patented self-centering, auto-tensioning system to ensure a perfect fit.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chains, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates the width
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel expressed in inches

Outstanding service! With an upcoming trip and recent snow storm etrailer helped me get my snow chains just in time for our vacation. Without the chains I would have been screwed. Communication with this company is impressive. The original chains I ordered would not have arrived in time and the sales team called me right away to find alternative solutions. Chains for 315/35/20 size tires are not easy to find. Really happy with my purchase. Thank you.

These are the easiest and best chains I have ever owned. My 18 year old daughter (Phoenix AZ raised Going to College in Bozeman Montana) was very impressed with the ease of installation. The easy to follow video made all the difference. The communication from etrailer was amazing and the personal touch of a simple follow up email to make sure I was satisfied was GREAT!

Beyond satisfied! I ordered the Konig XG-12 from etrailer.com two days before Thanksgiving and they actually arrived the afternoon on the third day as promised. Etrailer.com certainly has the best package tracking system I've come across. I haven't had a chance to use the chains yet but I am very happy to have them in the vehicle.

2001 Subaru Outback Wagon

I was introduced to these tire chains and the Thule cs-10's by being stuck in the snow. a fellow traveler came by and had a set that he didn't put on as he only needed 1 set to get thru the snow. the extra ones he had fit my subaru outback. he took 5 minutes to put both on my front wheels by connecting the rear portion, pulling the slack around the outside of the tire and connecting the front with a strap. pulled it taunt and wah-la. self tightening and off I go. so impressive I bought 4 sets from etrailer. very good website making it clear and easy on sizing and ordering. the customer service was very good too

We have had many sets of cables over the years and they all worked and were so-so to install. These Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - XG12 Pro chains are the best chains I have ever seen. They are extremely easy to install. I have driven almost 100 miles on these chains and they ride smoother than any cable. These chains are well worth the price.

The Koenig/Thule tire chains are highly rated and highly recommended, but like all snow chains - one hopes they'll never have to put them on. We've got them in the event we do have to have them. I couldn't be more pleased with the service and accuracy of my order from etrailer. Rich

BMW X5

I have never before found tire chains for my BMW X5 (315/35R20) tires, without having them custom made. So I was somewhat doubtful about the Thule claims, regarding both size and ease of installation. However, the tire chains were exactly as advertised; easily installed and removed, and a perfect fit. Better yet was the help I received from Vince C., who eased my mind regarding any issues I might have. I must commend Vince, who's knowledge of the product, and attitude, was a pleasure to encounter.

It is going to dump 10 inches of snow with some ice on us tomorrow and I am looking forward to chaining up. These chains install so easily. I was very impressed. I put on a set and watched my wife install the other set. No problem. As soon as you drive off, they center and tighten themselves perfectly. I was amazed. Given the quality of workmanship apparent in this product, I am confident they will perform above my expectations. Do not waste your time with cheap import chains. Buy these and be very satisfied.

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for 2004 Ford F-150 with 265-75-17 Tires
If you think you will use the chains at all then I would recommend the Thule Chains part # TH2004705265 even though they are somewhat expensive. These will give you the best traction, are S compatible, and will install easily. If price really is what you are most worried about then cables like the part # PW3027C would be your best option. These are best for occasional use and will get the job done.
