The Taskmaster 4.80R12 Radial Trailer Tire is built for real highway use. With a Load Range C rating and a 990-lb maximum load at 90 psi, it’s designed to handle long distances without building excess heat. 1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Best tire I’ve installed since COVID. They have close to 12,000 miles. I’ll buy them again if available
Bought a year ago, have not driven with them a lot, but my purpose was to provide margin for highway travel over the stock tires on my Malone kayak trailer (nothing wrong with the stock tires but 65 mph max rating and bias ply construction). The new tires track nice and show no signs of abnormal wear. While the loaded trailer is about 400 lbs, I run the tires at side wall max of 90 psi. From what I have read to date, it seems trailer tires recommendations cluster around the position to run side wall max, 90 psi for these. Delivery was fast as it has always has been with etrailer. Very happy customer.
Every year we drive to Cape Cod with our utility trailer full of "toys". It's an 8hr expressway drive cruising around 75mph. The original tires on the trailer were rated for 70 mph max. These are rated for 81 mph. I feel much more comfortable at sustained highway speeds with these radial tires.
Tires are still working great a year later! We'll definitely be ordering more from etrailer in the future
Product arrived on time packaged neatly with all 3 tires in a box. Tires were date coded Dec 2016, so a little old but should give a couple years service I hope. Tires were in great shape. Replacing the bias ply tires on my teardrop trailer to hopefully get better service on the highway. Time will tell, but have had good luck so far using etrailer for parts on the teardrop.
I like radials but I am not happy with this tire. That said, I did purchase two more as they are the only radial tires in this size that I can find. Before, I was using a 4 ply tire on my trailer that lasted about 2 years. After losing the entire outer tread, I decided to go with this more expensive radial believing it would last longer. IT DID NOT. I got less than 5,000 miles out of it on a 500 pound trailer before the center belt shredded on the left wheel. Perhaps this tire was defective. I’ll try another to find out. Tried loading a picture to show but it say unsuccessful. Guess bad reviews are not shown.

Since trailer tires are built with a thicker side wall they are designed to take a heavier load so they dont really have a mileage rating. Most trailer tires last 5-6 years before they should be replaced. However, there a few reasons for failure. Heat buildup is the leading reason for blow outs so it is a good idea to keep your trailer under the weight capacity of the tires. Overloaded tires allow for heat build up which leads to blow outs. These tires also require max PSI at all times. If they are underinflated tires also leads to heat buildup.
I finally found a speed rated M tire for my utility sidecar rig.
And even better customer service.

Galvanized rim for trailer spare. We live near salt water, and I only buy galvanized rims. Had to buy the tire, valve stem, and rim separately as this size radial tire is not sold as a combo-package, only sell bias ply tires on painteNd rims as combo package. If there was an option to have etrailer mount the tire, I didn’t see it. Fortunately, some of us old guys still know how to put a tire on a rim. The tire, rim & high pressure valve stem are all excellent quality (you always have to smooth the galvanized “barnacles” on a new rim in the seal area). Shipping & delivery was fast, and the tire mounted and inflated easily.

This spare tire fits my trailer mounted manlift, and my son’s 30’ RV trailer. Used it for a short period while I got a new replacement tire. No problems, it’s cheap insurance against getting stranded.
Tires they sold me were a bit old. They were manufactured in 2023.

These tires made a difference for me as far as thread wear. The regular ply tires were wearing out to fast on the highway at high speed . These are radial and are holding up well. I have a small skiff

I bought this tire due to it being one of the most expensive tires on the market. I want my jet ski safe and not on crap tires. I have a triton trailer. I used a ceramic coating on them to hopefully extend their life.

Fantastic, I’m planning on buying the same tire again when it is time to replace them.
The tire mounted up and balanced well. This is my third tire which is a spare. I purchased these tires because they were the only radial available in this size and I am sick of changing out my boat tires (Bias Ply)EVERY season. I would give them a better rating but have only put 400 miles on them so far. The only downside is having to make sure they are at 90 PSI every trip.
I haul my small boat trailer all over the US, and so I needed tires that could handle traveling over 65mph and hold up over many miles. These tires have been fantastic and are still going strong!
Owned this tire for 2 years. Filled to 37 psi. It hasn't popped. Great tire. Wore evenly.
I purchased these to replace the lower rated tires that came with an aluminum trailer kit from Northern Tool & Equipment. (The tires with the kit are rated to only 55mph.)
They look great and I look forward to trying them out.
Tires arrived on time and easy to install. I have purchased less expensive and have been disappointed. Extremely happy with quality and would recommend.

These Taskmaster 4.80R12 radials replaced a set of bias-ply tires that came with a 2003 LoadRite galvanized 5' x 8' flatbed single-axle utility trailer I purchased in June, 2022. After making several short local runs, the new tires got their first real workout during a trip from Pennsylvania to Georgia. The trailer was loaded to about 2/3 of its rated 1,620-lb. capacity. Those of you who travel up and down the East coast know how rough some sections of major roadways can be. In all conditions encountered (including driving rain, "uneven lanes" and flooded highways) the tires tracked rock steady and performed flawlessly. As I previously experienced with etrailer, customer service, website information and delivery were all 5-star. The site's recommendation of radial tires for highway-use applications was the main factor in my decision to buy this product and, so far, I am very pleased with the results.

Just got delivered. They are not installed yet but they look good. We will see once they are installed and on my trailer. Need tired for freeway use so hopefully they hold up on my freedom trailer

They havent been used much.. trailer has been stored in the garage for the winter. But they have worked out so far. It will get more use this summer so we will see
These load range C tires are no-brainers for me. If you are planning on taking your expensive toys down the interstate at 75mph, you really need these tires. Cheap insurance in my opinion.
I ran two of these radial 4.8R12 tires on a Holesclaw three rail motorcycle trailer. I was so impressed that I changed my boat trailer to these tires as well as changing the spare tires for both trailers to this tire. Makes travel uneventful.
The only improvement would be for etrailer.com to offer these tires mounted on galvanized or aluminum wheels.
Get them early as availability can vary.

After a year tires are wearing great on the trailer. These are the best tires that have been on the trailer. A couple thousand miles on them so far. Definitely will put another set of them on the tear when these wear out.
