You load up before sunrise, knowing the miles ahead will test everything. The drive stays steady, the trailer tracks true, and you spend less time worrying about the road and more time focused on getting the job done right.
When your trailer is loaded for the job, you need confidence in what is under it. This tire is rated for up to 2,200 lbs in single applications with a Load Range D and 8-ply rating, giving you the support needed for utility trailers, small campers, and equipment hauls.
Highway miles can wear a tire down fast if heat builds up. The radial construction helps the tire run cooler over long distances, which supports more consistent performance when you are covering serious ground.
If your trailer weight changes from trip to trip, uneven wear becomes a problem. The tread is designed to stay consistent across different load conditions, helping the tire wear more evenly over time.
Trailers often sit longer than they roll. The enhanced sidewall compound helps resist ozone damage, which can lead to cracking, so your tires are in better shape when it is time to head out again.
Sway and wandering can make towing stressful. This tire is designed to maintain solid road contact, helping your trailer track more predictably behind you at highway speeds.
Rain or dry pavement, you still need control. The wide footprint puts more rubber on the road, which helps improve traction and stability in a variety of driving conditions.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at the Kenda Carrier KR 53 ST 20 575 R14 radial trailer tire, and it's in a low range D. Now, when your trailer's loaded for the job, you're gonna need confidence what's under it. This tire here is rated up to 2200 pounds with a load range D and an eight-ply rating. So it's gonna give you the support needed for utility trailers, small campers, and even equipment halls. The highway miles can wear a tire down fast if the heat builds up.
This one here is a radio construction. This will help the tire run cooler over long distances, which will help support more consistent performance when you're covering serious ground. The tread design on it is a nice computer generated tread design, and they use premium rubber compound materials, which will give you maximum traction wetter dry conditions. This is an ST tire, which stands for Special Trailer Tire. Has a sturdy sidewall so it can handle heavy loads.
It is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. And trailers themselves are often gonna sit longer than they roll. So the enhanced sidewall compound on this will help resist ozone damage, which can lead to cracking, so your tires are in better shape when it's time to head out again. This tire does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications.
The tire size, which will be stamped on the side wall. Just wanna show you where that's located. Right here, it'll say ST for Special Trailer, 205 75 R 14. R means that it is a radio tire. The section width, 8.1 inches.
Overall bammer from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 26.3. And we mention this tire is a load range D, which means it's an eight-ply rated tire. So it does have a maximum load capacity of 2,200 pounds at 75 PSI. And the last thing to mention is it does come with a speed rating, and the speed rating is always stamped on the tire also. And where it is is right after the tire size we went over. You'll see two numbers for the load index and then there's a letter. The letter designation is the speed rating, so a speed rating N, which this one is, means it's an 87 mile per hour speed rated tire. But that is gonna do it for a look at this Kenda Carrier KR 53 ST 205 75 R14 radial trailer tire in a load range D.

I love the way you explained how the tires take on wet roads. Also, I wanted to ask if those were kennels on your trailer.

Oh my, they are still holding air. So far this year they made it to Orlando and Racine, about 4200 miles. Going through Illinois. I thought for sure Id have to air down due to road conditions. But they did fine.

One year later and the tires still look nearly new. I’ve hit a number of deep pot holes at 45 mph+ and no visible damage to the tires. The trailer still tracks the same as the first day they were installed. I will be buying these tires for my 25 foot travel trailer when the old ones were out.
