When you’re towing heavy gear or covering long distances, this tire holds its own. The Kenda Loadstar ST175/80D13 bias trailer tire carries up to 1,610 lbs at 65 psi and meets DOT standards for reliability on the road. With an M speed rating of 81 mph, it’s ready for the highway without sacrificing strength or stability under load.
The bias-ply build uses tough nylon cords layered at a 30- to 45-degree angle, giving the sidewalls extra stiffness so the entire tire flexes evenly. That structure helps it stay stable and smooth when you’re pulling over uneven ground or rough pavement. It’s a design that keeps your trailer tracking straight and steady instead of bouncing around.
An advanced rubber compound and flatter tread profile combine for long tread life and steady handling. You get improved stability with less rolling resistance, so it tows smoothly mile after mile. The result is a tire that wears evenly and stays dependable through repeated highway runs or regular local hauls.
For the first year, any damage—no matter how it happens—is covered by a full replacement guarantee. After that, Kenda backs the Loadstar with a 5-year limited warranty. That level of support makes it easy to choose this tire knowing you’re covered if something goes wrong early on.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

The tires are performing very well. Of course, my snowmobile trailer sat all summer with four machines inside and the tires did not require any air this winter. We have put nearly 3000 miles on the tires and they show no wear so far. I find it remarkable that they have not lost any air at all. I am very pleased.

After a year of running these tires I could not be happier. They have taken all of the abuse I could give them and no problems. Besides all of the short trips to the lake I have made a trip across the country to Arizona with all of the heat on the highway and still no problems.

When the tires are shipped to us, theyre palletized which can compress them. Once theyre mounted on a rim, theyll pop back into place and work perfectly for you.
