Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires
Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Tires and rims arrived a couple days earlier than expected. I am very happy with the products and pleased with the appearance of the galvanized rims.
I also made a separate order on plastic fenders of which I'm very happy with.
Both orders were packaged well and had no damage upon arrival. 822728
I have to say the customer service and inventory selection is great. But with my last order of this trailer wheel and tire the finish on this wheel is less than to be desired . It looks like what ever process went into galvanizing the rim the Quality control was lacking . Other than that I have no issues with etrailer and for sure will order more in the future when need be1283864
Seem to be overall good tires. Only real complaint is they flat spot very easily. First mile or two of every trip they violently shake.1441685
Comments
Bias ply tires will flat spot when stored on a hard surface, especially if the trailer has a load on it. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable due to the stiffer sidewalls and the way bias ply tires are constructed.

Ordered the tires on a Sunday night and even with regular shipping they were at my house Tuesday. I bought them to replace a pair of trailer tires purchased locally- nearly identical price, but both the tires and the wheels are of MUCH higher quality materials. I was emailed the next day to make sure the order had arrived and that I was satisfied with everything. Customer service has been great- will definitely use etrailer again!540015
I am very satisfied with my tire purchase. they shipped them in record time and the quality of the tires is excellent. I am very happy with my purchase from etrailer.1470794

Tires and rims were exactly what I ordered, rims look nice, chrome finish. Tires are good quality. Will work great on pontoon boat trailer. Arrived earlier than described. Took 3 days from order to arrive at my home. Thank you1118315
Tires with rims arrived today and look great. PSI was even correct right out of the box. Won’t be using the boat/trailer until this weekend but I have a lot more confidence now that I won’t have a blowout. 668673
What a great purchase! We had bad luck with our old trailer tires (read that as we didn't maintain them) and purchased these. We were able to take them right out of the box, put them on the trailer and we were good to go!1331682

I bought two of these wheel/tires, several months apart. Both purchases were exactly what I expected and I'm very pleased, to say the least. My second purchase wasn't expected to arrive for another two months but Etrailer came through and I just received my purchase in mid-January. These Wheels/tires are going on a restoration I've done to one of my boats. It's going to look very sharp. Thank you Etrailer.940279

Its been a year since my purchase of the Loadstar wheels and tires. They are working great with no issues. Ive put several thousand miles on these. I recommend always checking the tire pressure and keeping it up at the maximum pressure indicated on the tires. Also, check your torque on the wheels about every thousand miles. Thats the safest way for you and your trailer to stay out of trouble. I hope this helps.

Exactly what I wanted. 2 new tires and rims for my 2014 Yamaha SX190 boat trailer. Had the tires balanced at the local tire shop we use for our cars real cheap ??. One was "typical" out of balance the other was more so. I won't complain. They are now balanced. I'm using the old ones as spares since this trailer doesn't have spares. Good to know my F150 jack and wrench work perfectly on the trailer so no extras needed. I will definitely use etrailer again if the need arises. They are great. 270047

Great price, quality tire and rim with fast shipping from etrailer. After internet search at many sites, etrailer offered the best price and tire I needed as a spare for my boat trailer. Also received a very nice sturdy Fulton tire mount. Received order extremely fast within 2 days. Very pleased and would definitely order again.597937

Could not be more pleased. Needed a basic spare tire set up for a jet ski trailer and received the items in less than a week. GREAT on- line experience and will now be shopping here for all future trailer needs. 637896
You should always use tires of the same size, load range, and construction on a trailer and the Loadstar Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel, # AM3S334, are just that. As long as your bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2 inches, this tire and wheel combo will be great for a spare.

It is not recommended to tow a trailer that has two different tire types on it. It will affect the handling and ride of the trailer since radial tires track better.
Any two tires of the same size from different manufacturers will have slightly different measurements. This is do to differences in manufacturing processes, tread type and wear, and amount of air pressure in the tires. Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire.

Without knowing what size trailer tires you have on your trailer or any type of information as far as clearances of the trailer it would be very hard for me to help you pick out the best wheel and tire for your setup. Also, since I do not know what bolt pattern the axle of the trailer has I couldn't pick out a rim either. I attached an FAQ on determining bolt patterns for you to check out as well.
For the best ride quality you will want a radial tire. The main difference between a radial... view full answer...
The tire / wheel you referenced, part # AM3S334, is a 13 inch, bias-ply tire, and has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. I researched your 1694 Featherlite trailer and based on the specs, radial tires were used as a standard. You will want to check the tires you currently have on your trailer to verify the numbers before selecting a new tire / wheel. I have linked you to an FAQ article that explains how to determine the bolt pattern on your wheels.

We actually have an FAQ article on trailer tires, part of which covers bias ply tires versus radial tires. I have posted the section below and I have also included a link to the whole FAQ article for you.
The main difference between a radial ply and bias ply tire is how the tire is constructed. The cords underneath the tire are run in different directions. On a bias tire, the cords run at a 32 degree angle from the direction of travel and on a radial tire, the cords will run at 90 degrees... view full answer...
There could be a few things that are causing your trailer tires to wear on the inside.
It could be that at one time the trailer was overloaded and the axle has been slightly bent down.
Another possibility is that the another part of the suspension is worn out. You will want to check over the suspension components, and make sure that none of the bolts have made oval holes where they are connected. This could indicate that these parts will need to be replaced and are worn.
You will also... view full answer...
The benefit of going to a larger tire is that you will have less revolutions on a larger tire than on a smaller one meaning that the larger tire will not wear out as fast. The additional weight of a larger tire is not something to be concerned about as far as the bearings go as long as the trailer is still under its gross capacity.
As long as the trailer can accept the larger size without interference with the trailer body and frame there is no reason not to go to a larger size.

As long as the wheel is the same size as what you have it wouldn't make a difference to go with a Load Range D over a Load Range C.
The part # AM3S334 that you referenced should work well for you. I attached a review video for this wheel/tire for you to check out as well as a help article on trailer tires for you to check out. view full answer...
A wider tire will not solve the issue of your tires wearing down on the inside only. If your trailer tire is wearing on the inside but is not overloaded and your suspension is aligned properly the only other issue that can be causing this is the tires not being inflated to their max psi consistently.
On trailer tires you always want to inflate the tire to the maximum cold psi, which will give you the best performance, allowing the tire to wear more slowly and give you optimum gas mileage.... view full answer...
Different trailers will use different hubs that might have different dimensions is the short answer. That said we've yet to hear about any of our 13 inch trailer wheels like what comes with the part # AM3S334 not fitting a hub based on pilot diameter.
Since you have this size and the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern this wheel and tire will fit and work well for you. view full answer...
The Loadstar Bias Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel part # AM3S334 comes with a ST185/80D13 tire that has a load range D (1,710 lbs per tire) rating and a wheel with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. You would need to confirm the bolt pattern, weight capacity, and tire size of your 1996 Jayco Eagle Travel Trailer in order to confirm fitment.
I have attached a help article that will show you how to correctly measure the bolt pattern. You can look at the tires you have on your trailer now... view full answer...
To go from a 5.30-12 tire to a 185/80-13 tire size will require a bit more clearance so you'd need to check first. The 13 inch size will be right at 2-1/2 inches taller in overall diameter. As long as you then have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern you could install a wheel and tire like the part # AM3S334 which would work well. The width of the tire would be right at 2 inches wider too. view full answer...
In the specific trailer tire size ST185/80-13 we do offer only bias ply tires. Larger sizes are offered in both types of construction. All tire and wheel-with-tire items we have in this size are shown on the linked page. All are Load Range D, such as # AM3S334.

We do carry a wheel and tire with the size of 185/80-13 like what you need. For that you'd want the part # AM3S334 which would fit and work well since it's an exact replacement. This would be the only ideal option for your setup since it's important that you run the same tire size. view full answer...
Most wheel wheel/tire assemblies come pre-balanced to an extent that is suitable for use on non-steer axles. This is done by matching the light spot on the tire (yellow dot) with the heavy spot on the wheel (valve stem). However, if you would like for the assmelby to be balanced down to the 1/4 oz then you would need to take it to a wheel/tire shop but this is not really needed for trailers. view full answer...
We have rims and tires in the size your trailer needs. For that you would want the part # AM3S334 which is a galvanized 13 inch trailer wheel with a ST185/80D13 tire mounted on it. view full answer...
We do carry the tire size of ST185/80D13 mounted on wheels so we do have a suitable spare. The part # AM3S334 is that tire size mounted on a galvanized wheel with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
The D in the size instead of the R means it's a bias ply tire and not a radial. Which in the size you mentioned there is only bias ply options available. view full answer...
Generally, I do recommend that all tires on your trailer be the same size at all times, so ideally your spare will match the existing tires on your trailer. With that being said, the difference between a 175/80-13 and a 175/80-13 tire is only 0.3 of an inch, so if needed in an emergency, the 175 spare tire should be fine to get you home.
To be on the safe side, I do still recommend obtaining a matching spare tire when you are able. I have attached a link that will take you to our available... view full answer...
Most trailer tires are not rated for passenger vehicles and vice versa. The reason for this is they are made to withstand different weights and travelling conditions.
I strongly recommend against using truck tires for your RV as this can be dangerous. If you'd like to replace the tires and rims on your Rockwood A122S, then you can use the Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel, part # AM3S334. The closest tire size to what you mentioned that we offer (and most likely what you have) is the size 185/80-13 like the # AM3S334 which is mounted on a galvanized wheel and has the standard wheel bolt pattern of 5 on 4-1/2 inch which is what this size wheel and tire normally has.
I also attached a review video for this wheel and tire for you to check out as well. view full answer...
The wheels that you will want to use on your boat trailer should have either a galvanized finish or an aluminium construction. The reason for this is that these are the two most corrosion resistant trailer wheel types on the market. This corrosion resistance is needed because water can get inside the wheel and chip away at the bead seats which will result in frequent leaks.
If you have 185/80-13 tires on your trailer and your wheels use a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern like the combo that you... view full answer...
I have the perfect solution for you with the Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel # AM3S334. The wheel has the standard 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and the galvanized finish will help it last longer since it will be dunked in the water when loading and unloading your boat.
The tire has a load range of D (1,710 lbs at 65 psi) and has a max speed rating of 81 mph so you will have a nice safety margin when it comes to how fast you plan on traveling.

Ideally, you'd want the spare to be the same size tire and wheel. Using a wheel one inch in diameter larger than the other will cause all sorts of problems with the way the trailer handles, from sway to uneven tire wear.
If we're talking less than a couple of miles at slow speeds it should be okay but if I'd recommend obtaining a spare with the same wheel/tire size as the other as soon as possible. view full answer...
The 185/80-13 is a great trailer tire option. It measures 24.4" diameter x 7.2" wide so as long as you have clearance for this new size it will work well. We recommend at least 3" from the fender and 1" from the frame. If you have enough room then I recommend the Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel part # AM3S334 which has a galvanized wheel that works great on boat trailers. view full answer...
