Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

No complaints with the tires. Would estimate about 6k miles on them without any signs of excessive wear

by:

Just what I needed, fast service, quality item, fast shipping.

by:

Still waiting to have this tire mounted, but shipment was quick and accurate.

by:

Nice tires perfect for my boat trailer

by:

etrailer is the premier vendor for anything related to trailers. Everything I have ordered from them always fits right and comes at a sensible price.

by:

Product arrived well packaged and quickly. Mounted on my rims and will be tested tomorrow. I will follow up if any disappointments but have always been happy with etrailer.

by:

Tires are great! Handle boat and trailer on the road with no issues.

by:

e-trailer has everything i need for my boat trailer, good products, good prices, very fast shipping, & excellent people taking the orders !!!

by:

My Kenda Karrier came very fast . I have used them in the past and was pleased . I have not had any problems with Kenda tires on my boat trailers and will buy again when the time comes.

by:

Second set I've had and seem like an excellent tire. Date code says they are already two years old though!

Tires are high quality especially for the low price. Shipment was really fast, everything packaged securely. Can't go wrong with products or technical expertise from their experts, and they've always replied to my emails within 12 hours! Unheard of these days. Much respect for them, and i highly recommend.

by:

The Kendra Radial Tires with wheels arrived in two days and were exactly what I needed. Excellent customer service and well packaged to protect the product and to make handling easy for the UPS driver and me when I received the tires and wheels. And the price was the best I could find anywhere. Thanks Tara.

by:

This was a replacement for a tire that had a hole in it due to staples in shipping box. They promptly processed a replacement and gave me a credit for a portion of the 2x mounting cost that I had to deal with.

by:

Etrailer has always been great to deal with. Customer service is great when you need it.
This tire has given me absolutely no problems, and it has about 14,000 miles on it now. Its wearing great.

by:

I am very happy with my new spare tire. I had converted to Radials for better pothole and nail protection. I had the rims and could not find just the tire. It is going on my Whaler trailer. Yes even off season I have begun to spread the word about your prices. WEST MARINE WOULD ONLY SELL ME ONE ON A RIM AND IT WAS $160.00. I HIGHLY recommend your service people for their help. Since you told me about radial tires in a smaller size I may do 3 on my other trailer.
Your packing it was great because it was hard to open! That kept the tire in great condition. Dave Osler stamford CT.

by:

Used these on my project custom trailer to haul a vintage golf cart around to shows, races, etc. run true, no vibration, great life! Did I mention also a great value for the price!

Ordering was easy, order fulfillment was really fast, communication from etrailer was excellent, delivery was smooth, the message on the box was great "The bottom of this box should not be the end of our relationship." I bought tires from etrailer last year, same experience. I would definitely buy from the company again.

by:

Great products and service, I will always use etrailer for future need.

by:

great little radial for my tandem ski boat trailer. Handles the electric brakes fine.

by:

Im.a bit disappointed. Ive bought from.e trailer many times over the years. I just recieved my trailer tires only to find a date code of ( 1021 ) meaning they are 3 1/2 years old ! An article on your site says they should be replaced every 3-6 years.. So i guess i need to start looking to replace them even thpugh I havent mounted them yet! Certainly makes me think twice about buying them again from here.

by:

I put about 300 miles on the tires. No issues whatsoever.

by:

I love this company, easy to order.Thought it would take a week to get tire.Had it in 2days! Paula was awesome and overly helpful.Stock was brand new and not years old (very important with trailer tires).I won’t buy a trailer tire anywhere else.Thank you etrailer!

  • Tire Recommendation for a Trailer Used on Paved and Dirt Roads Size 175/80-13
The best tire for your trailer will really depend on how much time you spend on paved roads versus dirt or gravel roads. At the 175/80-13 tire size, you can choose between a radial tire and a bias ply tire. Radial tires, like part # AM10210, have more flex, better ground contact, traction, tread wear and runs cooler than a bias ply tire. A bias ply tire, like part # AM1ST77 has a thicker sidewall and is ideal for off-road use, but if you spend more time traveling on paved roads, a radial...

  • Looking For Tires With Higher Load Rating For Pop Up Camper
Hello Don, thanks for reaching out. As far as the ST175/80R13 tires, the highest weight capacity we offer would be 1,650 lbs like the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # KE78KV. If you are needing a higher weight rating, you will need to go with a larger size tire like a Kenda Karrier ST185/80R13 # AM10208. This has a 1,710 lb load rating so much closer to your axle capacity. Do you have room in your wheel well area for slightly larger tires? Ideally you want at...

  • Can 1973 Travel Mate Camper Use ST175/80D13 Tires
The ST175/80D13 tire you added shouldn't be a problem. It will be slightly larger in width by about 1/4" and diameter by about 1/2" but that is unlikely to cause clearance issues. However, if you want to keep running that tire on there you should match it with the same size on the other side. The only thing I would personally do differently is switch to radial tires like the # AM10199. These are a lot better for most purposes, especially on the road, and will last longer.

  • Difference Between Kenda Karrier ST175/80R13 KR35 and KR03 Tire
Hi Marty; the main difference between the # AM10199 and # KE48KV is the tread. The # AM10199, which is their KR03 tire, is the better choice for paved roads. This tread will also have better performance on the road in wet conditions. The tire also has the lower maximum load at 1,360 lbs at 50 psi. The # KE48KV, which is their KR35 tire, is the better choice for mixed terrain. This tire has a max load of 1,375 lbs at the same 50 psi. It is also 0.2" narrower. Realistically the size difference...

The 155/80-13 tire you are referring to is a very odd size which is why you are having such difficulty finding a replacement. We do not carry a tire in this size but I do still have an option for you. A 155/80-13 tire is going to be 22.8" in diameter x 6.1" wide. A 175/80-13 tire is going to be 24" in diameter x 6.9" wide. Therefore, the new tire size will be 1.2" taller and .8" wider than the old tire. This means that you will need an additional .6" of space between the tire and fender....

Are you sure about the 165/80-13 tire size? I don't show that as a currently available tire size, could you have meant a 185/80-13? In any event, a 175/80-13 tire measures 24 inches tall x 6.9 inches wide which would be slightly shorter at about 3/4 of an inch and roughly 1/2 inch narrower than your existing tires, assuming that they're a 185/80-13. So, the tires should work fine for you, once again assuming your current size is 185/80-13. I'd recommend going with a radial tire, as they...

  • Difference Between 175/80-13 Radial & Bias Trailer Tires
The difference between radial and bias 175/80-13 trailer tires doesn't have to do with resistance, it is really just the application of the tires. Bias tires are really only best for agricultural use while radial tires are best for normal, everyday roadways. The reason for that is bias tires have cords which run diagonally while radial tires have cords that run from side-to-side. What this does is result in radial tires flexing more, running cooler (which means they do last longer), and...
