The invisible design leaves no bulky crossbar or brackets in sight, and the attachment tabs stay on your tow bar so there’s nothing sticking out from the bumper. Snap-in high-density polyethylene covers keep dirt and debris out of the receivers, so the arms slide in and out smoothly every time you hook up.
Connecting the tow bar arms is quick and straightforward. Each arm slides into the base plate receiver, twists to lock, and secures with the included pull pin for extra security. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, twist, and remove—no tools or fiddling required. The simple mechanism makes it easy to line up and connect even if you’re doing it solo.
This base plate bolts securely to your vehicle’s chassis with no welding required. Its sturdy steel design spreads towing forces evenly to minimize weight placed on the suspension. That dependable build gives peace of mind over long trips where strength and stability matter most.
Already have a tow bar you like? You can keep it. This base plate works directly with all Demco, etrailer, and Blue Ox tow bars without an adapter. If you’re using a Roadmaster setup, just add the right adapter—e98983 or e99037 (sold separately). An included electrical bracket makes it easy to mount a round electrical connector plug up front for a clean finish.
This kit is made for hands-on installers who want to get it done at home. It’s a simple bolt-on process—no welding needed—and comes with all necessary hardware and clear instructions. The bracket spacing is 31-1/4" with a bracket height of 22-1/2", so you can plan your setup precisely before starting.

Hi Shawn, the etrailer Invisible Base Plates part # e66GV are not a fit for the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is why the shutters had to be removed, and the instructions didn't cover it. These base plates fit the previous 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee model, but due to changes in the fascia and bumper they're not a fit for the 2026 model due to those modifications. However, the actual frame of the 2026 Grand Cherokee is still the same as the 2025 model, so the base plates are safe to tow with.
