These steel backing plates for the 2' E-track in your enclosed trailer provide more support than just securing it with using wood or metal screws. Bolt each plate to your E-track on the opposite side of the wall or under the floor.

Features:

  • Backing plates provide extra support for your 2' E-track (sold separately)
    • Perfect for use in an enclosed trailer with a thin wall or floor
  • Multiple pre-drilled holes make plates compatible with horizontal or vertical E-tracks
  • Galvanized steel construction is strong and corrosion resistant
  • Simple, bolt-on installation with included hardware
    • Attach each plate to E-track, evenly spaced, on the opposite side of the wall or under the floor
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Quantity: 2 backing plates
  • Dimensions (each): 6" long x 6" wide x 1/8" thick
  • 4-Bolt mounting pattern: 4-1/2" x 4"
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Note: The included hardware lets you mount your E-track on surfaces up to 2" thick.

Product Dimensions

These backing plates provide more support for your E-track (sold separately) than only using wood or metal screws. Simply put, they allow the pulling force to be distributed over a greater area. This prevents your mower, ATV, or other heavy object from pulling your E-track away from its mounting surface and tearing up your trailer's wall or floor. They're perfect for trailers with thin walls or floors.

Pre-Drilled Holes

Product Dimensions

Pre-drilled holes accommodate the standard 4-bolt mounting pattern found on most horizontal or vertical E-tracks. There are also holes to accommodate D-rings, Snap-Locs, and odd-shaped tie-down anchors.

Simple, Bolt-On Installation

Installed

To install, drill pilot holes in your mounting surface as close as you can to each end of your E-track and directly in the middle so that the plates will be evenly spaced. Place your E-track where you're mounting it and insert the included bolts. On the opposite side of your wall or floor, place the plates over the bolts and secure them using the included washers and nylon lock nuts.

  • How Does Smart Fortwo Get Secured to Aluma Trailer Using E-Tracks
I attached the picture I believe you were referencing for securing a Smart car too a Aluma trailer using E-track. The straps used in the picture are the Erickson Adjustable Wheel Net with E-Track Fittings # 77314 which basically just snap into place into the slots of the E-tracks and then the ratchet tightens the straps to the tires. I also attached a second picture that shows a closer angle for you to check out to see more. We also have wheel chocks that fit into e-track as well that would...

  • Mounting Suggestion For E-track To Aluminum Utility Trailer
For your Aluma 6810 HBT trailer, I recommend the Erickson Horizontal E-Track - Zinc Coated Steel - 2,000 lbs - 5' Long - Qty 1 # E19148 along with the E-Track Backing Plate - Zinc Plated Steel - 6" Long x 6" Wide # e96RR. This will save you the expense of the dual track and will allow you the flexibility of plates between the braces or around them. This track also comes in 4 foot # EM19147, and 2 foot # EM59150. I recommend using the E-Track Plastic End Cap # ET8730 to finish your tracks. For...

  • Can E-Track be Installed in Car Hauler for Multiple Car Widths
You can install the Erickson Horizontal E-Track # E19148 in any manner you like, so for a car hauler that has cars of different widths you can place E-track side-by-side, as you can see one of our customers did in the accompanying photo. This E-track is only 5-1/8" wide so you can install numerous different tracks to meet as many widths as possible. For additional support I do recommend using the E-Track Backing Plate # BPEZ during your install. This would be the best option and then you...

  • Should E-Track Be Attached to Trailer Frame for Installation
When installing an E-track, such as # E19148, it is always best to attach the track to the trailer's main structural components, such as the frame, when possible. The frame will provide the best support for the system. The E-Track Baking Plate # e96RR works well to help reinforce the E-track when the frame is not located in the area where you need to install your E-track. The installation process for the E-track can vary on a trailer to trailer and cargo to cargo basis. To be sure your...

  • Backing Plates and Wheel Nets for E-Track System
I have a solution for you, but the CargoSmart X-Track Cargo Organizer Pro Bundle # 3481788-P does not come with any backing plates, but you can add them with the E-Track Backing Plate # e96RR. You will need to drill new holes in this backing plate in order to make it compatible with the CargoSmart X-Tracks, but this is the only option we have available. While there aren't any wheel straps like the Pro Grip # 317-18900 that fit in the E-Track rails, you can use the Erickson E-Track Tie-Down...

  • Recommended Products to Haul Vintage Autos on Flat Bed Trailer
The Pack'Em Wheel Tie-Down Kit for Truck Beds and Trailers - 30" Tires - 800 lbs # PK-WTD is a great option for a versatile system. Another option is to use E-track like # EM19147 and # e96RR. With this track you can then use the wheel chocks # EM09162-2 or the Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit w/ Ratchet Straps and Wheel Chocks - 1,500 lbs # EM09160. I've attached the link to all the E-track tie-down options as they are extensive.

  • What Is the Weigh Capacity Of the CargoSmart Folding Track Brackets 3481744
There is not a listed weight capacity for the CargoSmart Folding Track Brackets part # 3481744 because much of this comes from how you attach the tracks that these brackets fit in. That said, I don't think you will have any issues using this as a fold out bed for say a 250 lb person so long as the tracks are attached securely. If you need to further secure the tracks to bear more weight you can use backing plates, part # e96RR.

  • Recommended E-Track Mounting on Aluminum Frame Trailer
The Zinc Sheet Metal Screw - 8 x 3/4" Indented Hex Washer Head - Hex Slotted Drive # 31071 are a good choice for your wall studs, but not for your 3/4 inch wood floors. The zinc coating on both the E-track # E19148 and the screws will prevent galvanic corrosion from the dissimilar metals of steel and aluminum. For your floors, I recommend using zinc plated screws along with locknuts to secure your bikes using backing plate # e96RR. You can obtain that hardware from your local hardware...

  • Backing Plate for Use with Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit EM09160
Erickson does offer a zinc-plated steel backing plate for use with their E-Track products like their ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit # EM09160. Use part # e96RR. You can see this item's hole dimensions and spacing in the linked photo. Since your trailer deck is aluminum and this plate is steel you will want to isolate them to prevent galvanic corrosion between the two different metals. A coating of paint or other insulating material will do it.

  • Could Brophy Rope D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor SS15-C Be Used with 3/4 inch Plywood
3/4 inch plywood will be fine as long as it is properly installed to the floor of your trailer and your motorcycle isn't a 1,200 lb monster like a Goldwing. I would recommend using an anchor plate below the plywood like the part # e96RR.

  • Backing Plate Recommendation for E-Track for Securing Track to Wood Floor Trailer
The E-Track like part # E19148 that you referenced has a capacity of 2,000 lbs so it would do well securing a 2,500 lb trailer at 4 points as each track would have 1/2 the weight. I would recommend you use backing plates below the floor of your trailer like part # e96RR since your tractor is pretty heavy and the floor of your trailer is wood. For D-Rings to install in the track you would want the part # E59143 so that you could use a ratchet strap like the # EM01314.

  • Can the Erickson Horizontal E-Tracks Be Used on a Car Trailer
So long as the wooden planks are securely attached to the steel cross beams I see no reason as to why the Erickson Horizontal E-Track part # EM59150 with the Erickson Adjustable Wheel Net part # 77314 would not work for you. However, if you are concerned with strength then you can always add a backing plate to the back of the planks with the E-Track Backing Plate part # e96RR. I have attached review videos for you as well.

  • Hardware For Installing E-Tracks on Marine Plywood Trailer Deck
Because of their versatility there isn't a specific type of wood screw that's recommended when installing the Erickson E-Tracks like # E19148. The screw length will depend on the thickness of your trailer deck but for thinner marine plywood I do recommend adding Backing Plates # e96RR to reinforce the connection. I have attached a sample install video as well that you might also find helpful.

  • Is Backing Plate Needed to Mount Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit to an Aluminum Trailer
If you can bolt the chocks of the Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit # EM09160 to some main support beams under the floor of your aluminum trailer then you would not have to use a backing plate. But if you need to attach them to the floor where there are no supports then you would need to use a backing plate, # e96RR. The backing plate will disperse the force applied to the chocks over a wider area. The chocks are painted which will help with galvanic corrosion (because of the dissimilar...

  • Can E-Track Be Used To Secure a Car in a Trailer?
Yes, you can use Erickson Horizontal E-Track item # E19148 as front straps to hold down a car. These tracks have a 2,000 lbs maximum capacity per track. You will want to use the etrailer E-Track Backing Plates w/ Hardware item # e96RR for mounting. The included hardware lets you mount your E-track on surfaces up to 2" thick. To strap your car down you will want to use the Erickson E-Track Wheel Tie-Down Strap with Roller Idler and Ratchet item # EM58523.

  • Can the Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit EM09160 Wheel Chocks Be Split Across Axles
Instead of splitting the wheel chocks and straps of one Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit # EM09160 across the ATV's two axles I suggest using two kits. The modest price of this Erickson tie-down kit means using two will not cost too much, but doing so will not only provide a much bigger safety margin relative to the weight of your ATV, but also allow that at other times when you're using the trailer for standard cargo items you will have multiple attachment points you can use along with...

  • Installing E-Track to Metal Floor of Car Hauler
There isn't a set rule, but I'd recommend bolting the e-track into place. The distance between fasteners will depend on the nature and structure of the floor of your trailer. If the metal floor has a sturdy wood backing, I'd attach the e track about every 6 inches or so, making sure that some of the fasteners are going into the frame members of the trailer if possible. Using backing plates like part # e96RR would be a good idea, as well.

  • Best Way to Install E-Track to Utility Trailer
You can mount the E-Track Trailer Cargo Control, # EM59150, using wood screws if the mounting surface is wood. If it is sheet metal, I would use sheet metal screws. Basically, match the screw with the material you are mounting to. There is no recommended way of installing the E-Track as installation is the responsibility of each individual installer. The more points you can contact the trailer frame, the more secure the spare tire will be. You might also want to consider using a backing...

  • Backing Plates For The Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit
Erickson has the spacing for the mounting holes of the # EM09160 before and after the chock at approximately 4-3/8" center to center. Since they unfortunately do not offer a custom backing plate the # e96RR you purchased is going to be the closest option. The elongated front and rear holes are 4-1/2" apart center to center so you could possibly get it to line up straight and fit but you'll likely need to notch either the front or back hole about 1/8" to get the bolts to drop through.
