Features to know about

Made for the Long Haul: Load Range D with 1,075-lb Capacity at 100 psi

When you’re towing heavy gear or making long trips, load rating and pressure matter. This Kenda 5.70-8 bias tire handles up to 1,075 lbs at 100 psi, built with an 8-ply rating for dependable strength on the highway. It’s rated for 65 mph and meets DOT specs, so you can cover miles with confidence knowing it’s built for real-world loads.

Built to Fight Rust: Galvanized Steel Wheel Finish

Corrosion can ruin an otherwise solid setup, especially in wet or humid conditions. The 8" x 3-3/4" steel wheel on this combo is fully galvanized for superior corrosion resistance. It shrugs off road grime and moisture that would eat through other finishes, keeping your wheel looking clean season after season.

Stability on Uneven Ground: Bias-Ply 8-Layer Strength

This bias tire uses tough nylon cords positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle in alternating layers. That makes the sidewalls stiffer and helps the whole tire flex evenly, giving a smooth ride and solid handling when the surface gets rough. It’s built to stay controlled where softer tire designs might wander or bounce.

Ready to Mount and Go: Straightforward Fitment with Common Bolt Pattern

No guesswork when it’s time to bolt it up. The wheel uses a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern with a 2.8" pilot diameter, 0 offset, and 1/2"-20 wheel bolts. Everything lines up cleanly for hassle-free installation and a snug, balanced fit.

Extra Peace of Mind: Worry-Free Protection and Reliable Build

The tire comes backed by a 1-year worry-free guarantee that covers replacement if it’s damaged in the first 12 months. It also carries a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty on the tire and a limited 2-year warranty on the wheel. That’s real assurance for anyone who expects their gear to hold up over time.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Super fast shipping. Quality products. Etrailer is the BEST. Thank you

by:

Great product. I was running 4.8-8 boat trailer tires and I wanted a higher load rating. Helen was extremely helpful with selecting. I thought about going to a 12" rim size, but decided to go with a 5.70-8. I purchased 2 of the AM30156 and they are amazing. I feel everyone should replace their 4.8-8's with these units, as long as they have enough clearance. They are slightly wider and taller so check that out. They are a much more robust product, they are a load rating D instead of B, and my trailer tires don't look grossly undersized now, even though I didn't step up to a 12" rim. The 8" galvanized rims look great. I had these bolted on my trailer within 12 hours of receiving them. Great job etrailer and Helen!

Such a great upgrade, still perfect

by:

Big thanks to Carol C and George J for expediting my trailer tires and galvanized rims. Very easy to navigate your website and love the shipping updates with the US map fun even for a mechanic like myself. Merry Christmas 2020.

by:

Usually these tires are great. Unfortunately I had one defective tire on the sidewall stamping. Etrailer is having me try to contact Kenda directly. So far no response from Kenda. Suppliers like etrailer charge markup and are the middle man for manufacturers to take care of the end user in situations like this.

I run an auto shop, and I would never sell a product and offer a warranty where I take no part in the warranty claim process.

I refund or replace the product for the customer and deal with the warranty claim process directly with the manufacturer after the fact and that’s how it should be.

by:

I needed to replace some trailer tires, wanted at least a load rating D. They had what I needed.

by:

Best upgrade that I could make to my trailer! The lower load range ones were wearing out too quickly. These aren’t

by:

These tires are awesome. They fit properly and seem to be of very high quality. They are exactly what I was looking for at a great price. The website made it easy to determine the proper tire to purchase with all of the specs and dimensions for tire and rim size. I built a rack on my trailer to hold multiple boats and needed tires that could handle the extra load. The tires arrived quicker than expected as I used standard shipping. Ordering was easy and shipping was free.

by:

Wheels and tires are nice. Very quick free shipping near a holiday weekend.

This tire/rim combo is replacing and older tire/rim combo that will be serving a none highway service. I stepped up one size to make the utility trailer bed a bit higher. I very pleased with the performance and quality of the tires and rims.

  • 5.70-8 Trailer Tire & Wheel With 5 on 4-1/2" Bolt Pattern Combo
We have a couple of options for a trailer tire and wheel combo with 5.70-8 tires and wheels that have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, it just depends on the load rating you need. The tire/wheel combos are the following: - Load Range C - 910 lbs: Loadstar 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 # AM30150 - Load Range D - 1,075 lbs: Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 # AM30156

  • Speed Rating for Trailer Tires and Troubleshooting a Bouncing Trailer
All of the trailer tires we carry are rated for 65 miles per hour which is suitable for highway speeds. A 4.8-12 trailer tire, like the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire, # AM10062, is rated for 90 psi. You should always inflate a trailer tire to the max psi rating indicated on the tire. Trailer tires are made with a thicker side wall to handle more vertical load. Under-inflating a trailer tire will cause excessive heat build up and cause the tire to fail. What is probably causing your trailer...

  • Trailer Tire Recommendations for a Trailer Towed by a Motorcycle
An 8 inch tire is perfectly fine for a motorcycle trailer. It will probably be easier on the bike. A couple of things you mentioned do wave red flags. First, tire pressure. Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi as indicated on the trailer tire. This is because trailer tires are specially constructed with a thicker sidewall when compared to passenger vehicle tires. When under inflated the thicker sidewall generates excessive heat and can fail. The other thing to look...

  • Are These Tires Strong Enough To Hold A 1,600 lb Load On A Single Axle Trailer?
Depending on how many tires you have determine if the tires will be overloaded. It's kind of like axles. If you wanted to carry a 5,000 lb piece of equipment and you have two 3,000 lb axles then you will be fine since you have a 6,000 set up. Same with tires. If you have two tires that have a capacity of 1,075 like the tire you're looking at # AM30156 and you're going to have 1,600 lbs on your trailer and the trailer itself doesn't weigh more than 450 lbs, you won't be going over the weight...

  • Replacement Wheel and Tire for Trailer with 5.70-8 on 5 lug Wheel
Thanks for your pictures. From that I can tell you have a 5.30-8 wheel and tire with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern so for a spare/replacement you would want the part # AM30156. Since your sidewall is cracking it would be a good idea to have replace them all.

  • Recommended Tire And Wheel Sizes To Change To For A Camper With 5.70-8 Tires
When you say blowouts and attribute them to heat buildup, you are correct. The reason you have heat buildup in tires is not just because of the size, it will also be from overloading, damage to the tires and age. So to just change size first might not solve the problem. If the tires hit curbs a lot it would cause damage to the sidewalls and form a weak spot, which would allow the heat to buildup and go to the weakest spot in the tire and fail. Also any punctures or repairs to the tires...

  • Can 4.80/4.00-8 Boat Trailer Tire & 5 on 4-1/2 Wheel be Upgraded to Larger Tire
It may be possible, depending on how much clearance you have - with trailer tires, the general rule of thumb is you want at least 3" of clearance from the top of the tire to your fender and at least 1" of clearance between the inside of the tire and your trailer's frame rail. A 4.80/4.00-8 tire measures 16.1" diameter when inflated and 4.7" wide, so if you have the clearance you can go to a 5.70-8 tire which is 18" diameter and 5.8" wide, and there are three different load ranges to choose...

There are a pair of options for you which we carry depending on the wheel bolt pattern you have. The Kenda # AM30153 has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern while the Kenda 5.70-8 # AM30156 has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. • Will Kenda 5.70-8 Tire & Wheel With 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern Work For Boat Trailer
Yes, for your boat trailer with 5.70-8 tires with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern you can absolutely use the Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # AM30155. The white wheels on this combo will work with a boat trailer, but I do recommend considering the same option but with galvanized wheels. Reason is, galvanized wheels are going to offer you better corrosion resistance, which can be important for boat trailers, especially if they are used quite often....

  • What Is Speed Rating of the Kenda Bias Trailer Tire and Wheel # AM30156
Special Trailer tires, (ST rated) will have a maximum speed rating of 65 miles per hour. It is not recommended to travel faster than 65 miles per hour as heat can buildup inside the tire and cause tire failure. I have linked an FAQ on trailer tires that you may find as a good reference.

  • What is the Weight Capacity of the Kenda 5.70-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" Galvanized Wheel AM30156
Load Ranges for tires can and will change based on the tire size. Not all Load Range C's have the same capacity. The most important factor to consider will always be the stated capacity at the max tire pressure. The part # AM30156 that you referenced has a 1,075 lbs at 100 psi so that is it's actual capacity regardless of it being a Load Range D. The Load Ranges are basically designed to easily organize tire capacities based on size.
