A stiff or binding suspension can make your trailer feel rough and unpredictable. This 2-3/4" long shackle link connects a double-eye leaf spring to the rear hanger or equalizer so the springs can pivot properly as the trailer moves. That controlled movement keeps weight balanced across the axles and helps the suspension flex the way it’s supposed to over bumps and uneven ground.
Loose or mis-sized links wear out hardware fast. This strap is precisely made with 9/16" bolt holes and measures 4" long overall by 1-1/4" wide, giving a snug, consistent fit with standard suspension bolts. The 3/16" thick steel construction holds up under load and resists bending, keeping your spring and hanger connections tight and secure mile after mile.
When old shackles rust out or elongate their bolt holes, the suspension loses alignment and stability. Swapping them with this TruRyde shackle strap restores a solid connection between the leaf spring and axle hardware. It’s a simple fix that brings back safe, even suspension travel without changing the setup you already have.
Vintage trailers and well-used haulers often need small hardware like this to get back on the road. Whether you’re rebuilding an older suspension or just replacing a few tired parts, this standard 2-3/4" shackle strap is a dependable piece that fits cleanly where the original did, letting you button up your project with confidence.

Today in our boat trailer, we're going to be installing the TruRyde shackle strap, 2-3/4 inches long, part number TRSL275. Here's what our shackle strap looks like once it's installed. The 2-3/4 inch measurement will come from the center of the bolt to center of the bolt. The overall length from end-to-end is 4 inches. The whole diameter of the strap is 9/16ths to allow for the 9/16ths shackle bolts, and the width of our strap is 1-1/4 inches. Now let's go ahead and show you how to install it. We'll take the eye of the leaf spring pack, line it up with our attachment point, put our bolt in place. Then I'm just going to go ahead and thread on the nut on the backside, hand-tight at this time.
Next, we'll take the two new leaf spring straps and our new bolt. We'll slide one of the straps onto our bolt, feed our bolt through the attachment point, put our second strap on and again, we'll just go ahead and put our nut on the back side, hand-tight at this time. Next, we'll go ahead and install our third new bolt, and that will be for the leaf spring pack to shackle straps. We'll go ahead and install the nut. Just like that, it's installed, and we're ready to head on down the road. There you have it for the TruRyde axle strap, 2-3/4 inches long, part number TRSL275.

Great service.
Berry happy can you tell?
Great product, put the trailer together last night. It matched the original perfectly. Noboby seems to carry trailer parts locally anymore. Will definitely be going back when i need other trailer parts.
Very reasonable prices, fast shipping, very professional communications and follow up. Would highly recommend etrailer.com!
Best on the market. Let’s be honest everyone you will get is cast so it’s generally the same but the finish is spot on.
They were pretty good for a light trailer and freshwater boat trailer application. I was expecting them to be a little thicker (more heavy duty).
Everything that was ordered fit perfectly. I am glad etrailer is around because the products available were just what i needed to repair my trailer.
Haven't installed the parts yet. However, everything came packed perfectly and professionally. Parts look to be of great quality and shipping was WAY faster than estimated! Will definitely continue to keep buying trailer parts from etrailer!
Fast service and shipping. I like the tracking map. that's cool. I have ordered from e trailer a number of times. Always happy with product and service.
Thanks
I ordered several parts for my travel trailer. Everything was exactly as described. Fast shipping. Great price! Great customer service!!!!
Excellent product but poor delivery on etrailer's part. Was told out of stock for 1 week. 1 week passed, then the next week passed. I paid for expedited delivery. Delivery took another week after etrailer received the product from the supplier. I was not a happy camper.
I ordered springs, equilizers, shackles and bolts on Sunday evening and they were delivered on Wednesday. All of the parts were correct as I ordered and fit perfectly. I liked the diagrams on measuring the springs to make sure you order the correct size. I would highly recommend etrailer.com for all your trailer needs. Great service and great parts. Thanks!
You guys know customer service!!! I don't think I have ever had as good of service at a brick and mortar store. A rep called me within an hour of placing my order. Just to let me know the springs I ordered would not be in stock for a couple weeks. But that he had a pair of springs slightly heavier that were the same size. They arrived in a week. And all the parts came at one time.
Thanks..
Excellent service and prices. Needed to replace curved equalizer, shackles and bolts, nylon spring bushings, u-bolts, and wheel bearing seals on my sailboat trailer. etrailer had everything and shipped it fast. Staff at etrailer was excellent!
Rebuilt 1990 stratos boat trailer suspension. Now it tows great and rides smooth. Raised the trailer just enough for the slightly bigger new tires.
my friend ordered springs and hardware for my pontoon trailer. man did they get here fast. everything in one box. packed real good. no damage, nothing lost or left out. I finally got everything back together. fits great. i was worried that the springs where going to be to light, but the trailer sits just like new. sorry no pics. I was to greasy to get the camera out. But its like new again. yes etrailer.com i'm gonna be back next time I need parts. and i've already told all my friends with boats and trailers about etrailer.com . I am a happy customer. thanks again. C Finley

Thanks for your follow up. Parts are still doing fine. I am still very happy with my shopping exp. With etrailer, and I have had the opportunity to share my exp with several people hope they come shopping with you.
We had a broken balancer on the right side of our 5th wheel. The right side had one shackle wore through and a couple others not in good shape.
We changed out both sides in short order we could ever level the whole works.
The parts were exactly what we wanted and came by post sooner than even expected.
Very happy with the whole process!!!
These worked great! Gave me the extra cleanse needed on my JetSki trailer after I upgraded to 13" wheels.
The most difficult part was tightening the nuts to the point that the head of the shackle bolt was flush against the shackles and hangers. Afterward, I loosened the nuts a little. But, I don't know how much to loosen them.
I purchased these from E-trailer because they had the exact size that was being replaced, so I wanted the same parts size as was on it from the Factory!
So I cleaned the oil off with brake cleaner and put several coats of paint on them and I will put a couple more on them before I replace them with the new shackles!

I havent had any problems since I purchased them from you and I had installed them on my boat trailer
Early 1950's Shasta . Suspension was rusted and unsafe. Needed new tie brackets for Leaf spring and axel. E-trailer had what I needed. Perfect fit for Axel and leaf spring. Needed the shock mount. could not find so just made a couple of gussets and mount. Weld-er-up and Bingo. problem solved. Pictures 1) project. 2)problem suspension is unsafe 3)Strip it down. Then E-Trailer had what I needed. New brakes, Wheel Bearings, Suspension hardware shackle straps(very hard to find) 4) key component Leaf spring shock and axel ties. Thank you e trailer.

That's some serious rust you tackled there, Carl! Where has your Shasta taken you recently? It looks like a blast to camp in.
