Today in our boat trailer, we're going to be installing the TruRyde shackle strap, 2-3/4 inches long, part number TRSL275. Here's what our shackle strap looks like once it's installed. The 2-3/4 inch measurement will come from the center of the bolt to center of the bolt. The overall length from end-to-end is 4 inches. The whole diameter of the strap is 9/16ths to allow for the 9/16ths shackle bolts, and the width of our strap is 1-1/4 inches. Now let's go ahead and show you how to install it. We'll take the eye of the leaf spring pack, line it up with our attachment point, put our bolt in place. Then I'm just going to go ahead and thread on the nut on the backside, hand-tight at this time.
Next, we'll take the two new leaf spring straps and our new bolt. We'll slide one of the straps onto our bolt, feed our bolt through the attachment point, put our second strap on and again, we'll just go ahead and put our nut on the back side, hand-tight at this time. Next, we'll go ahead and install our third new bolt, and that will be for the leaf spring pack to shackle straps. We'll go ahead and install the nut. Just like that, it's installed, and we're ready to head on down the road. There you have it for the TruRyde axle strap, 2-3/4 inches long, part number TRSL275.
