Availability of Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axles With 36 Inch Spacing

Question:

I want to do a suspension upgrade on a 2004 Pj trailer model 516 tandem my trailer has shackles that measure 4 overall length. Looking for a kit that has the equalizer included. Is this available? my axles are 36 apart. thanks

In order to find the correct suspension upgrade kit you are going to need to take some measurements. We do not have one that includes the equalizers based on your axle spacing so you will need to get those separately.

Starting with your shackles, the shackles are measured from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the other. Just to compare, # TRSL275 you looked at and the # 115052GALV both have an overall length of 4" but the bolt hole measurements are different. Make sure the replacement matches your current shackles.

With a tandem axle system we have two upgrade kits available. For 2-1/4" long shackles straps you want the # MR46ZR and for 3-1/8" the # MR76ZR. From there you will need to find equalizers.

In order to find the correct replacement equalizers you will once again need to measure. You want to find equalizers that match what you currently have. The most important measurements (marked on the diagram below) are A which is the side to side length, and D which is the height of the equalizer.
