  • Limited Tire Clearance with Stock Tire Size on a 2006 Forest River Cherokee 27Q
We recommend having a minimum of 3" between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender in order to allow for proper suspension travel. However, based on the photo you sent I believe you need new leaf springs as the ones you have appear to be almost completely flat. This has then compromised your tire clearance. The flattened leaf springs could either be a result of overloading the trailer or just general wear. In order to replace them you would need to know your axle capacity and the...

  • Recommended Replacement Equalizers, Bolts, Bushings And Shackle Straps For Tandem Axle Horse Trailer
We currently will not have a kit that contains everything that you are looking for but we do have all the parts you will need. First I recommend upgrading your equalizers to the MORryde Rubber Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR87ZR. These cushioned equalizers will help to extend the life of your suspension components by absorbing the harsh road shock and reducing back and forth chucking. This will equal a better ride for your horses as well. Pair this with the MORryde Suspension...

  • Which Replacement Equalizer and Shackles for 2004 Carson Dump Trailer with Axles 34" Apart
In addition to the axle spacing, the best way to choose the appropriate equalizer replacement is by measuring how wide your current equalizer is when measured between the two side bolt holes, center on center; as long as you keep everything relatively close in length compared to the old parts, the geometry of your suspension system won't be thrown off. As long as your existing equalizer is 5-3/4" wide and your shackle straps are 2-1/4" long from bolt eye center to bolt eye center then...

  • Replacement Equalizer for Trailer Suspension that has 6-1/2 inches Between Bolt Holes Left to Right
Hey Temoc, we don't have exactly the same equalizer as what you have now but we can still help. Our part # TREQ356 is pretty close dimensionally and seems to be your best option. From left to right the bolt hole centers are 6-1/8 inches apart and vertically the holes are 2-1/2 inch apart. So this would add a little bit of height to your trailer but would still work.

  • Replacement Equalizer for Trailer with Equalizer Marked EQ-350
I would say it is very likely the equalizer is marked EQ-356 since that is a very common equalizer and there isn't an EQ-350. That would mean the correct replacement is the part # TREQ356.

  • Replacement Trailer Suspension Components For Tandem Trailer
We do not have any equalizers with the dimensions you mentioned. From the looks of the photo you sent it appears the hole may be elongated and you may be able to use an equalizer that has all of the holes at 9/16-inch like part # TREQ356, or with a center hole that measures 3/4 inch like part # TREQ458. You will need to measure the equalizer length and height as well as the holes like the attached drawing shows to find the correct replacement. It looks like the shackles and bolts...

  • Will 7-3/4" Long Equalizers Work In Place of 6-1/2" Long Equalizers
The correct replacement 6-1/8" long equalizer is the part # TREQ356, not the part # TREQE34 which is 7-3/4" long. Therefore no, the two are not directly cross compatible. If the reason you are wanting to use 7-3/4" long is so you can get the kit part # e99ZR, you can use all the shackles and bolts with the above TREQ356 so getting both is what I recommend as there isn't a kit that comes with the TREQ356.

  • Vintage Trailer Suspension Replacement Recommendations
Going to a higher rated spring will not give you higher rated axles. The axles themselves have their own rating independent of the springs. So going to a higher rated spring would only increase your trailer capacity if they were the weakest link prior to replacement. That being said, your current springs are 28 inches long so you will want to pick out a spring that is slightly shorter than that as springs tend to stretch over time. The part # SP-210275 would be the best candidate as it...

  • Shorter Equalizer Solution for Trailer Where One Side of Equalizer Hits Frame
Tot get your equalizer to sit level you basically just need to go with a slightly shorter one (measured from left to right). So what I would recommend is measure the length of what you have and then go with one shorter. Looking at your picture I would be willing to bet you have a 7-3/4 inch one currently so for a shorter one you could go with the part # TREQ356 which is 6-1/8 inch. Or for shorter than that we have the part # TREQ104 which is 5-3/4 inches. There would be no need to replace...

I would be happy to help! The Curved Equalizer for 1-3/4" Wide Double-Eye Springs - 6-1/8" Long - 9/16" Center Hole # TREQ356 you were looking at will be an exact replacement for your current equalizers as they have the same 6-1/8" length and 2-1/2" height as shown in the included diagram. The # TREQ356 includes nylon bushings. If you would rather have bronze bushings you can use two of the # K71-291-00. Now the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers - 1-3/4" Wide...

  • Replacement 2-1/4 Inch Shackle Straps and EQ-356 Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailer
You definitely have the right idea of replacing everything if your suspension parts are rusting. To replace the 2-1/4" (center-eye to center-eye) shackle straps I recommend the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR46ZR. This not only comes with the shackle straps but it also comes with the wet bolts, nuts, and bushings for a complete overhaul. • Heavy Duty Shackle Kit with Wet Bolts for Triple Axle Trailer with TREQ356 Equalizers
For an exact equalizer replacement you would want the part # TREQ356 that you referenced. In the shackle length you have now of 2-3/4 inches we only have standard shackles like the part # TRSL275. So for a heavy duty kit that includes wet bolts and bronze bushings the closest and best option would be the part # MR86ZR which comes with 2-1/4 inch shackles. The shorter shackle will only slightly raise the height of your trailer suspension but aside from that would have no affect on it.

  • Double Eye Spring Recommendation and Suspension Parts for 6,000 Lb Trailer Axle
The leaf spring I recommend is 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles part # e94SR. These leaf springs come with 9/16" diameter nylon bushings installed. The amount of leafs do not matter as much as long as the spring is rated for your axle capacity. I recommend TruRyde Shackle Link part # TRSL225. The shackle straps are 2-1/4" long. • Suspension Equalizers for 2001 R Vision Trailbay 31BHSS
I'm assuming that your existing equalizer is 6-1/8 inches long, measured center hole to center hole, is this correct? If this is the case, we don't offer an equalizer that's 6-1/8 by 2, but we can get you really close with part # TREQ104 which is 5-3/4 inch long by 2 inches tall. The 3/8 inch shorter equalizer will slightly change the angle of your shackle links, which will actually allow a bit more suspension articulation.

  • Can I Replace TREQ104 Equalizers With TREQ356 And What Difference Will It Make?
You can replace the Curved Equalizer for 1-3/4" Wide Double-Eye Springs - 5-3/4" Long - 9/16" Center Hole, # TREQ104, with the Curved Equalizer for 1-3/4" Wide Double-Eye Springs - 6-1/8" Long - 9/16" Center Hole, # TREQ356. Even though you can replace these parts, moving to a longer equalizer will cause one axle to have a disproportional amount of weight on it. The smooth transfer of the impact won't be distributed as effectively which will cause a rougher ride without as good traction....

  • Will Shorter Leaf Springs Be Compatible With A Dump Trailer Suspension
Hi Jay, So I typically recommend going with the same sized components when replacing your suspension so that you don't have to worry about it binding up and not wanting to travel when hitting bumps in the road. People tend to overload dump trailers so they'll go with heavier springs than their axle is rated for to try and prevent them from flattening out. From the pictures your shackle straps and equalizer look to be forming a 'W' still just like the with the previous components so you'll...
