Recommended Upgraded Equalizer to Replace a 2-1/2" Tall x 7-3/4" Wide Equalizer

Updated 02/19/2026 | Published 02/16/2026

Question:

I’m looking for an upgraded shackle/equalizer kit for my trailer, it has 1 3/4” wide double eye springs, the center to center bolt hole on the shackles is 2 3/4”, the equalizer center to center bolt hole is 7 3/4” for the springs, the center equalizer hanger bolt hole to bottom of equalizer is 2 1/2”. I’m looking for something heavy duty, wet bolts/bronze bushings. I haven’t seen anything here but I’m sure you guys can help point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Hey Josh, thanks for all of the measurements. I am coming up short on a kit that matches all of your dimensions too. The E-Z Flex Equalizers item # K71-655-00 are going to be the closest replacement I have to your current ones. They measure 7-3/4" wide from the mounting bolts and are 3" tall from the top mounting bolt to the center line of the side bolts.

That same item # K71-655-00 equalizer also comes in the Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit item # K71-653-00, which includes wet bolts and shackles. However, the shackle straps are only 2-1/4" long from the mounting bolts. You could swap them out with the 2-3/4" item # TRSL275 to match your current ones but you would have to purchase 8 of them. Using 1/2" shorter shackle straps is going to raise your suspension and cause a rough ride.

There's no wet bolt shackle strap kit that comes with 2-3/4" shackle straps.

You could also purchase the E-Z Flex Equalizers item # K71-655-00 and use the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit item # MR76ZR. This kit has 3-1/8" long shackle straps, which would increase movement in your suspension but it would be a lot better than going shorter.

What kind of trailer do you have?
