Rough roads don’t have to shake everything loose inside. This system’s 6-leaf slipper springs and nitrogen-charged gas shocks work together to cut bounce, chucking, and porpoising by up to 50 percent. Each spring handles 4,000 lbs, and the tandem-axle setup is built for 3" round axles. Independent axle operation keeps traction consistent—up to 70 percent better during braking—so your trailer stays steady mile after mile.
Standard equalizers pass vibration from one axle to the other, but these center hanger boxes stop that. They sit flush to the frame and isolate each spring to eliminate the wave of motion that usually follows a bump. Inside each box, a roller and safety bolt guide the flat slipper end of the spring so it moves smoothly without hopping. The result is a quieter, more controlled ride with less sway and stress on the frame.
Every leaf spring comes with Never Fail bushings already pressed in. They’re made from a molybdenum- and graphite-filled material that’s more durable than brass or nylon, so there’s no greasing or squeaking to worry about. It’s a true bolt-on upgrade designed for longevity and low upkeep—ideal for trailers that rack up serious mileage.
Each shock compresses from 17-1/2" extended down to 11-1/2" and mounts between 20 and 40 degrees for optimum leverage. That geometry limits both up-and-down and side-to-side movement during compression and rebound. Whether you’re towing across pavement, cobblestone, or gravel, the system keeps the tires planted and the trailer stable for a smoother, safer pull.
The setup includes four slipper springs, four shocks, and two center hanger boxes. It bolts over existing hangers and uses your current suspension bolts and U-bolts—though worn U-bolts are best replaced during the swap. With its clear layout and direct-fit parts, the install brings a big suspension upgrade without major modification.

Finally took the trailer for a long trip with the new suspension. Worked very well in smoothing the ride for the trailer out. Very little movement of stuff in the trailer on the 4000 mile trip out I40 and back on I80. Both roads known to be less that smooth. I would do this conversion again, if I got a different trailer. Pretty straight forward installation on the side of my house.
Improved the ride and handling of the rig immensely
If you have a Grand Design RV and haven’t broken a spring yet, get these! They are so much bigger and better quality.
I am pretty happy with the end results but I would like to share that the plate that the ubolts go through have slotted holes which allow the ubolts to slide out wider than the springs and they start to bend while trying to torque.
Luckily, the new ubolts were long enough to allow me to put the original plate on top of the supplied plate and that solved the issue.
Other than that, install was pretty straightforward and performs as advertised and expected.
After one year of traveling with the Roadmaster comfort ride suspension system, we have been very pleased with the suspension performance.
I just can't say enough good things about this product. We full time out of a 41ft Grand Design solitude and we have been back and forth across the country with this installed....WOW what a difference this made, from bouncing over bridge transitions to things getting destroyed inside the rv. I installed this myself and had no trouble thanks to etrailers installation videos. It's definitely worth it, we love our suspension and no longer worry about traveling anymore.

4 stars because my 2019 Redwood 3401RL needed to have the equalizer removed. This involved cutting and welding. The shop I took it to did great work, if it wasn't for their expertise my suspension upgrade wouldn't have happen. I'm glad to have independent axles, shock absorbers, never fail bushings and heavier leaf springs on my 15,000 pound trailer!
Takes some effort to install but worth the time. Much better towing experience after installing (2024 Brinkley 3100)
My RV has been on jacks for a week now waiting on new longer u-bolts. There should be new U-Bolts included in the kit or at least a note to warn the buyer they will probably need new ones. That shouldn’t be a note just in the instructions

First of all I want to thank Lauren A from etrailer, I’ve had the pleasure of getting my questions answered and technical assistance on more than one occasion, always with an awesome attitude. As for the Roadmaster comfort ride 2460-2580, I’m very impressed with the outcome of this suspension kit. It greatly improved the ride quality of my toy hauler, the kit is very well built and easy to install. I always hated how close the tires were to each other, with the kit it spaced out the gap by an extra 3 inches making it much easier to install X chocks. A+ for Roadmaster and etrailer.

I had the upgraded suspension installed on my trailer last year, and overall, I’ve been very pleased with how it performs. The suspension itself works great—it really helps smooth out the ride and adds stability, especially when towing long distances.
That said, I’ve run into an issue with uneven tire wear on the back axle. After only about 3,000 miles, the inside tread wore down so much that I had to replace the tires far sooner than expected. This suggests that while the suspension system is solid, the installation and alignment need to be absolutely precise to avoid problems like this.
I’m currently working on figuring out the best way to correct the issue, but I still believe this suspension is a good product. My advice to others would be to make sure you have it professionally installed and double-check the alignment before hitting the road. With the proper setup, it’s a great investment for safe and comfortable towing.
Additionally, I had to add a cross brace to reinforce the set up and it worked great. I got that from MORyde.
I have had the suspension kit on for over a year now and I would do it again. The springs and all the hardware seem to be of much higher quality that the OEM stuff that was on the trailer. After the install, (which I did myself. Not a real hard job) the camper rides and tows much smoother. between the slipper springs and adding shocks the stuff inside the camper is pretty much where it was when we packed it. So I am hoping it will extend the life of the camper by not beating itself to death when towed.
This is a great suspension upgrade for your camper. The ride quality after installation is much improved, noticeably smoother towing and no more worries about bust leafspring or shackles. Took about 4 or 5 hours to install with basic tools in my driveway. Definitely recommend upgrading.
The system is well designed and was easy to install. The only items missing from the kit that are needed are new u-bolts, the old ones are too short for the new heavy duty hardware and new ones should be included with the kit.
This kit was relatively easy to install with a little mechanical knowledge and tools. Definitely a great upgrade to most OME suspension systems.
Etrailer sent the spring kit in a timely manner. I had help for shipping from support because the 8k springs seemed to be out of stock so I had to switch from the 7k I originally ordered. We got it sorted out eventually, thanks Etrailer! Roadmaster has a good price for a suspension kit and not much difference in price between the kits, which is why I opted for the heaviest. We carry a lot of stuff as full time Nomads! It came in two heavy boxes, so I took the parts out to move them around. The instructions were pretty good, a couple spots required some head scratching. I did not lift the whole trailer up at once but did it one side after another. Probably would have been a little easier to lift the whole trailer to line things up. The kit worked as expected, very robust. We have traveled the country and up to Alaska with the springs and so far, no complaints! I opted for the heaviest kit 8K which might be overkill for my 7K axles, so the ride is a bit more rough/stiff that our previous experience with the poor flat out springs and shocks on our Arctic Fox 295t. New things bounce around, but that is life in a trailer, right?
